Good, but could be better
Made from what looks to be a cast metal, they are sturdy, but, due to being cast, they are not as precise as I feel is required in a high quality garlic press. There is too much play in the hinge, too much clearance in the crushing chamber and so garlic gets pressed out of all the gaps with then requires chopping with a knife. Having said that I haven't ever had on as good as this and it's still being used when I need. The handle has non-slip rubber grip which lends to easy crushing power.

The best garlic presser known to man
This garlic presser is the epitome of engineering. The metal hinge means it’s impossible to break even with loads of pressure and the red ridged portion makes it easy to clean as well as very ergonomic. Great to have for yourself or to give as a present.

The only garlic press to have!
Great product, well designed and manufactured. By far the sturdiest and most effective I have come across - plus the significant advantage of having the fold-back skin ejector! You won't need/want any other one...

Apparently better than its predecessor
There is an older model of this garlic crusher with quite a number of negative reviews, particularly in reference to the handle snapping. This (version of the?) garlic crusher has no such issue. You wouldn't think that selecting something as simple as a garlic crusher would have so many variables but, crumbs, there really is.One of the major disadvantages with some garlic crushers is that the "head" part where the crushed garlic comes out is not a flat surface. That's a big negative as you can't run a knife over it effectively and get all of the garlic that you can.One of the major advantages with a crusher like this one is that it has the teeth on the other side so that you can push the remains of the garlic that is caught in the holes back out and re-crush it (or just put it in with the crushed). Cleaning the holes in a garlic crusher that doesn't have these is a real chore. One thing to watch out for though with the cleaning head is that water might get trapped behind the plastic part. I haven't personally found that with this garlic crusher (yet?) but there is a possibility. I might be completely wrong about that, however and find that the plastic part has nowhere behind it for the water to get trapped. I haven't tried breaking off the plastic to look.Leverage is a thing with garlic crushers, as is the ability to get a firm grip. I would say that it's a big thing but, realistically, it's down to the individual; some people would be able to hold on to a stainless steel grip just fine and if your hand has sufficient crushing power then pretty much any garlic crusher would work for you. Anyway, this has enough leverage to easily crush multiple cloves of garlic with reasonable ease. There's little else I can say. It's worked really well, cleans fine in the dishwasher and, with the above benefits, works really well for me.

Best crusher
This is the best garlic crusher I’ve ever had. This is my 2nd one as we did make the first one work hard. Have tried others but this is the best!

Top notch garlic press
I've been looking for good one of these for ages. Had a couple in the past but haven't lasted. This one from OXO good grips however, is really, really solid! It has a good weight to it and crushes that garlic clove, until there's nothing left to come out.It leaves a completely squeezed, garlic type skin in the holder, then you flip the handle back around the other way, press down slightly and it releases the skin from the holder, so you can tip it straight into the bin.Fantastic design, meaning you don't have to get garlic on your hands at any point.I think you could do 2 good sized cloves in this at once. It's a really well built kitchen utensil, with quality heavy duty plastic for the handle and a decent amount of solid metal for the crusher. What you expect from a quality utensil brand.

SOLID !
My old flimsy garlic press couldn't cope with my Schwarzenegger strength wrists. Most things I can crush with my bare hands, but I find garlic flies out the side and is hitting my wife on the head. And with the old press snapping like waterlogged pencil, I needed a solution.Enter the brilliantly named "OXO 11107400". Ordered Wednesday... Arrived Thursday.I kept it simple to start with. Just a small clove. A quick and easy squeeze, and the OXO treated the clove with less respect than Will Smith had for Chris Rock, easily pushing through the crushed stinky goo into my frying pan. Sure, there was some residual garlic still in the press. But with a quick flip, I was able to pop that out using the red prongs. So I've gone from looking with trepidation at the bulbous herb, to almost pitying its last moments as a respected vegetable (or is it a flower?).Yeah... I'd reccomend it.
