Adding extra value and versatility to high quality old lenses.
As a Sony shooter since the A7 was first released, I also started collecting Minolta vintage (60's and mostly 70's) cameras and lenses such as the SRT, XG, XD and X series cameras and second gen MC and first gen MD Rokkor lenses. These are sensational, compact, sharp lenses with character. A lot of modern glass just tries to be sharp while abandoning any attempt to add character to the images... Both have their place of course, and this adapter allows me to pick and choose what kind of images and lenses I want to shoot on the A7RIII and A7RV digital bodies. It makes high quality vintage lenses a really good value purchase for those who want to slow things down and shoot some manual shots with some lovely film-like character. The quality of the images are more to do with the actual lens and skill of the photographer so no point giving an opinion on that.Positives:The adapter itself seems really well made, well finished and solid, and they have attempted to make the aesthetics match vintage lenses and the body itself really nicely. It does exactly what it's supposed to and does it well at a 'reasonable' price.Negatives:There is a little pin/knob which must be lifted/compressed to secure and release the lens... But this little knob is positioned on the grip side of the lens. A7 cameras can be cramped in that area anyway so having a sharp little knob there isn't the best. However, it would be even more inconvenient if it was on the other side due to manually adjusting lenses, so I guess it's mostly unavoidable. The orange band around the adapter which is supposed to match the Sony mount doesn't 'really' match. It's a slightly different colour and a different finish but it's a nice idea so credit for trying! The positives vastly outweigh the picky little negatives and I'm really glad I picked it up. 8/10 product.

Does the job well, fits firmly but not too tight. Perfect for my Contax Zeiss 50mm F1.7
Read the reviews for the previous iteration & they were mixed.I took a punt at this knowing I could return it but I won’t be doing that.I haven’t used it with the sun near the field of view yet, so I can’t say if the matte interior reduces flare.Feels well made & at this price point I can buy one for each lens required.

Perfect Fit to convert Nikon to Sony
The mount converter arrived on schedule and was exactly as described. It is well constructed and finished to a high standard. I had a couple of Nikon lens that had become redundant for me as I had moved over to a Sony Camera. The converter fitted perfectly to both lens and camera, with no discernible play one "clicked" into position and allowed me to use the lens without any issues. The lens does not communicate with the camera and therefore functions like auto-focus do not work, but this was the same in the Nikon camera.I am happy to recommend this item and failing any major downturn with use and wear and tear, it does exactly what is needed.

Okay but doesn’t work with some lenses
Good but doesn’t work with my Nikon auto focus lenses. I just get pitch black images. I think it is because there is no manual adjustment option on the lens to change aperture so it just stays at the highest.

Use those old, sharp lenses!
Fitted a micro-Nikkor 55mm 2.8 to the a6000...and what a great combination as a portable tele or portrait camera...this lens is so sharp and a bargain if you can find one. The convertor obviously means you adjust the aperture ring and shutter speed manually and use focus peaking on the camera. It seems to back-focus a bit so bear that in mind and make sure the focus colour is showing in front of your subject as well as on your subject. The Adapter is well made and will help bring some of your old glass to life on a mirrorless camera. And by the way, there are some real mirrorless bargains to be had now.Don't buy if you only have lenses with no aperture ring...not a fault, just a fact.A couple of sample tele shots included....55mm on a crop sensor, so about 70mm focal length.

Perfect
Bringing vintage lenses to modern cameras, this does a great job and offers good value. Very easy to use and once fitted, no problems at all.

New life for old lenses
If like me you have some old M42 mount lenses gathering dust then this adapter can give them a new lease of life. It is as solid as a brick feels like quality.

Nikon-Sony adapter
Nice looking item which allows me to use vintage Nikon ai-s prime lenses on a Sony A7 cr. Works perfectly though no automatic functions are supported of course. You tend to get a different pictorial quality with these old lenses and you certainly have to slow down and make decisions about focusing and aperture in a more conscious manner. Worth having one of these.
