Great little book. Wouldn't belive it was pre-owned. For a penny, (yes just 1p), it has to be the bargain of the year

mini encyclopedia
Excellent product! Have a few different books on fish keeping but this is one of my favorites for general advice, includes tank set up, plant and breeding etc. A great section on fish breeds that helps decide which fish are compatible to keep together and what tank specification such as size are required. Whilst your aquarium seller can advise you on your fish purchases its good to have an idea of the type of fish you would like to keep. Does not have all the fish stocked at local aquariums (would be a massive book otherwise) but covers a lot of of the more popular breeds without naming all the variations of that breed which keeps it concise. Would defiantly recommend to tropical fish keepers or anyone with an interest in fish

Fact filled little book
My 9yr old loves this.Small book in size but full of useful info and facts on the various fish breeds. He claims some breeds aren't mentioned in it but does cover most breeds. Plenty of photos too.Would recommend to tropical fish enthusiast.

Very basic
Missing quite a lot of the common community fish but ok for my grandson. Gives no sizes for fish so good job I have some experience

Superb all round book
For anyone new to tropical aquariums like myself, this book is pretty much perfect. You can search all over the web for the information but this has got everything you need to know in one place. Really good step by step guide to setting up a new tank with excellent illustrations and pictures. It answers all those little questions you'll have. The fish guide is also brilliant. There was I wondering how many of a certain type I should buy, what they go with and what water conditions they suited, well the answers are all here. Awesome.

Information from 2004
The first sections with setup, care, tips, and techniques are great for novice folks. The fish sections are brief and contain fish popular up to 2004. You wont find fish like CPDs/Galaxy Rasboras. Also, I know its targeted for fish, but sections about neocaridina or crabs would be nice.
