Thermalright Assassin X120 Refined SE CPU Air Cooler
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Budget Cooler That Punches Above Its Weight I recently installed the Thermalright Assassin X120 Refined SE on my AMD AM4 build, and I’m genuinely impressed by what this cooler delivers at such a low price point. 🔧 Installation & Build Quality Setup was straightforward, even for a mid-range builder like me. The mounting hardware felt solid, and the cooler itself has a clean, compact design that fits easily in most mid-tower cases. The fan clips are a bit flimsy, but once secured, everything holds up well. 🌬️ Cooling Performance With its 4 copper heatpipes and the TL-C12C PWM fan, this cooler keeps my Ryzen 5 5600X running cool under load. Idle temps hover around 32°C, and even during gaming or rendering, it rarely crosses 70°C. For a single-tower cooler, that’s impressive. 🔇 Noise Levels The TL-C12C fan is whisper-quiet. It’s barely audible over my case fans even when ramping up under stress. If you’re building a quiet rig, this cooler won’t disappoint. 💸 Value for Money At under £20, this is one of the best value air coolers available. It won’t compete with high-end dual-tower beasts, but for most users—especially budget-conscious builders—it’s more than enough. ✅ Pros • Great thermal performance for the price • Low noise levels • Easy installation • Compatible with AMD AM4/AM5 and Intel sockets • Sleek, unobtrusive design ❌ Cons • Fan clips could be sturdier • No RGB (if that matters to you) 📦 Final Verdict If you're looking for a reliable, quiet, and affordable air cooler for your AMD setup, the Assassin X120 Refined SE is a no-brainer. It’s proof that you don’t need to spend a fortune to get solid cooling performance.

Amazing
Do not think that because this is a cheaper cooler it will perform as such, if you have a stock cooler i wouldn't hesitate to buy this immediately, My CPU is getting a bit old now and ill be upgrading that later in the year but to help it out a bit i thought id get a new cooler to hopefully assist with better temps especially now its much hotter outside, looks good and the temps have dropped significantly to the point i it feels like its improved overall performance, i haven't noticed it being loud either other than when i ramped it up myself to check, was louder but of course expected.

good replacement
Very cost effective and easy to fit. A good replacement to the stock intel fan.

I wouldn't use it for a 120W TDP Ryzen!
Great value, but my 105W TDP CPU runs at 91degC at 100% fan speed. Their claim to support 225W seems exaggerated! My Ryzen 9 5900X is right on the limit before thermal throttling kicks in at 95degC During non-gaming use, the fan runs at 20% speed and the temps are 70deg. Overall, a decent HSF, but be aware of the limits.

Very nice cooler for Ryzen 5
Very nice cooler for cheap. I used it on a ryzen 5 65w TDP CPU. I ran a stress tester for 20 minutes and the temps stabilised at 50 degrees or so. Suffice to say its pretty overkill, this cooler would probably be enough even for a 105W cpu like a ryzen 7 (the listing says its rated for 120W i think)

Great cooler for 65 watt TDP
Using it on a TDP 65 watt Intel i5 11400F. Cooling At idle temps are around 28c at load around 50c. Its really quiet. Thermal paste was fine and had plenty. Was easy to install.

Great cooling block and fan set
Great cooler and fan set. Comes with thermal paste and with all necessary parts for 3 different mounting types. Mounting the cooling block was easy. However, the instructions provided weren’t the best and was difficult to see how the fan is clipped to the cooling block. I had to turn to YouTube for a short tutorial on this.

Fan not working but product still works very good when it works.
When installing the fan the 4 pin header for it was faulty so was running the cooler for a bit without the fan even spinning but after I realised I replaced the fan by buying an aftermarket one and after that it has been very good, which is the only reason for it getting 3 stars not 1 because when working the cooler is keeping my temps below 70 with a Ryzen 7 5700x, was relatively easy to install considering it's an AM5 cooler and while it's working the functionality is very good
