This has to be the best performance upgrade you can do for your PC, as well as one of the cheapest. Boot times to Win 11 from the PCI-E M.2 slot nearest the PCI-E slot for your GPU is around 5 seconds. I also have 4 FROZR Heatsinks on my MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk WIFI motherboard (see pictures), so that’s something to take into account when buying this. You will need to purchase a separate heat sink otherwise. We all know the performance figures with this but I go by the Mark 1 eyeball and I can honestly say stuttering is a thing of the past (with a good CPU and GPU - I’m mid end gaming for eg 1440P Cyberpunk 2077 all on ultra and using super DLSS i5-13400f + RTX 4060 TI OC I get solid 100fps) just remember that this is on a dedicated PCI-E (shared with the CPU PCI-E. It’s the “01” black FROZR picture above the GPU slot) not utilising PCH, which is motherboard chipset bound and using the controller for USB devices, wifi onboard sound. Which will get bogged down if overloaded. Remember that when buying and going for solid performance.

Awesome Drive At An Excellent Price

After only 3 hours' use over 2 days, the drive health is showing 97%! This is clearly a defective drive and not acceptable performance. Anyone else having problems? Returned for exchange, but now have to wait more than 2 weeks for a replacement. Will update review when replacement arrives, which hopefully will be better.UPDATE 1: just received a replacement and it is no better - again the drive health is down to 97% after 7 hours' use. Returned and sticking with WD in future.UPDATE 2: decided to persevere, to see if the drive health would stabilise. However, after 9 hours' use, the drive health is now down to a shocking 89%! Most definitely returning.

Buyer beware - I should have read the other comments, because like them, I got a 1TB drive instead of a 2TB drive.Returns to the US are a complete pain in the bum, so pay attention to who the seller is!

Fantastic drive, but holy jez, the price increase of the 8TB version is insane! I already have one which I bought in 2023 for around £750. It's now close to £1000 for the 8TB model! I'd love to get a second one, but the drive is now the cost of a Nvidia RTX 4080 Super graphics card which is crazy. The pricing is completely way off.

Had to return due to receiving faulty nvme seemed good bang for the buckit's a shame will give them a try again bough due to high read write speeds and it being gen.4

These 8TB units are 2TB units so be careful, can take a chance but it seems everyone has recieved something other than an 8TB drive, and these are the price of what 2TB drives would normally be at, hope this helps someone.I say these (these being sold at this current price).

This is an exceptionally fast NVMe drive that at times can outperform the advertised speeds it is rated for. The SSD drive took almost no time to set up, as it was immediately detected by Disk Manager and I was able to format it and set it up as a new drive in just a few seconds. The drive does not come with any M.2 screws or a heatsink, so be mindful of that beforehand. Aside from that, I did end up putting a basic thin heatsink on this drive as it can get hot easily which can impact its performance, but with a heatsink the same heating issues were no longer a problem.Now, let's talk about the performance. This drive is a powerhouse in almost anything and everything that I have tested it with. I can transfer files between my other SSD drives almost instantly to less than a minute depending on how much I am transferring, and I was even able to move Game Directories from my smaller drives to this one in no time at all as well. As far as load times go, I didn't think there would be much difference between this and my old SN750, but there definitely is. Depending on the games and how optimized they are, some will load anywhere from a second or two, or up to 15-20 seconds for some others. Not only that, I also noticed I have had slightly better frame rates and less stuttering/hitching in other games, which is something I didn't expect. I don't know if that's due to the DirectStorage capabilities, but I honestly have gotten noticeably smoother gameplay in some games like Alan Wake 2, Hogwarts Legacy, and Cyberpunk. I have also never had any problems with recording or saving gameplay videos, and the drive just works for everything I need.Overall, if you are like me who wanted a faster, better, and larger capacity SSD storage drive to have all my games in one place instead of split across multiple smaller drives, then this is the best all around option. I personally believe this is the fastest Gen4 NVMe SSD I have personally used, and I am sure it should be more than fast enough for the foreseeable future. I highly recommend it!
