Overall good bottles
I tried quite a few different bottle brands, (my baby was premature and low birth weight and struggled with feeding) including Tommee Tippee and NUK, and Dr Brown's have been the only ones my baby could use.POSITIVES:- Baby can feed from them easily - the teats don't collapse like the Tommee Tippee ones did- The flow of the included Level 1 teats is appropriate (not ridiculously fast like NUK)- They really helped (but didn't totally cure) my baby's wind problems/colic- They come with a small vent brush for cleaning- All of the parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher (in a dishwasher basket) to save time handwashing all the parts - and the measurements on the side don't rub off- They do a premature baby bottle with a 'preemie' teat which were the only bottles my baby could take to begin with, and when he was older he transitioned easily to these bottlesNEGATIVES:- They have quite a few parts and take a while to clean by hand, particularly due to the small tubes in the vent- You have to buy travel caps (around £3 for a pack of 2) separately as you can't shake the bottles to mix the formula with the teats on as the bottles leak - because of this, they should really come with a travel cap included!- If you need to heat up a bottle, you need to slightly unscrew the collar of the bottle to release pressure while it heats, as otherwise formula will travel up the vent tube and out of the collar of the bottle. You then also need to remember to tighten the collar back up to check the temperature and feed - I've forgotten on a couple of occasions during sleepy night feeds and ended up with formula everywhere! But once you're used to loosening and tightening, it works and stops leaks- They can stain easily if you put them in the dishwasher with anything that has a slight residue but then I'm sure that all bottles are the same in this regard- compared to other bottle brands, they are quite large and bulky to carry around in the changing bag- They end up being quite expensive when you're buying a few (I bought 8 including the 2 that come with the microwave steriliser) and extras such as travel capsITEMS WHICH MAY BE USEFUL TO HAVE IF USING THESE BOTTLES:- Dr Brown's bottle travel caps - an essential really, as you need them to be able to shake the bottles and take them out and about- A dishwasher basket to save time handwashing the parts all the time (I use the OXO Tot basket which I got from Amazon)- Skip Hop double bottle bag - I spent some time after I'd purchased these bottles looking for an insulated bottle bag that would fit them as they're quite tall, and this one does the job- Level 2 teats ready - the Level 2 teats say 3 months+, but I was advised to move my baby on to them at 2 months as he was getting frustrated with the Level 1 teats by then and getting tired before he finished a feed - and he was very small for his age- Dr Brown's microwave steriliser- A colourless and fragrance free washing up liquid if handwashing to avoid any staining of the bottles (I use Fairy Pure and Clean)

Love hate relationship
After 9 months of using these bottles I've decided to leave a comprehensive review.Plus points :Your baby will love these bottles. The design means that they can constantly drink with no interuption having to stop and break for air. Also no vent on the teat means no airating of the milk. This results in a baby with minimal wind who takes their full bottle. Brilliant.Down points :Argh there are so many. When you make hot bottles you can only shake them if you buy travel caps and even then I've had hot milk spew all over me. When you cool or warm them you have to slightly unscrew the top or the milk shoots up the centre and out the sides. If you forget in the middle of the night to tighten them back up which I did milk poors out all over your baby. If you don't properly attach the green centre milk will poor out over your baby. I've been soaked and burned by these bottles. My baby had been soaked by these bottles which ends in unnecessary changes in the night, but you do learn quickly.I've tried to change brands once but my baby hated the avent bottles. He loves these bottles and as for me I have cursed them hundreds of times. However you can't deny they really stop wind and collic and as a result I have always had a really happy baby who sleeps well. So yes I would put myself through the torture over again. But just no what you're letting yourself in for when you start on these bottles. It's a love hate relationship for a year!

Magical!
I really wish I had discovered these bottles when my little one was newborn as it would have saved her (and myself) a lot of distress. These bottles are amazing and we have been able to switch from colic formula to reflux formula. She’s now such a happy and content baby. The instructions say not to shake the bottle after the straw is in place and to make sure the milk is not too warm when you put the straw in. My husband and I have had no problems with leaking. We mix the formula with the travel caps we bought separately, and put everything together when we’re ready to feed her. Make sure to read and follow the instructions on using these bottles. We can fit 2x 270ml bottles and parts in our Tommee Tippee (Closer To Nature) microwave steriliser. The bottles travel well with a travel cap in our Tommee Tippee bottle insulator.I don’t mind the 2 extra parts to wash and I don’t find them a hassle to clean. These bottles are a god send and I would still use them if they had 10 parts to clean as they have made such a difference to my baby’s comfort and happiness and to my own sanity.I recommend these for all babies that suffer with colic.

Love these bottles! Highly recommend!
These have helped our 3 month old immensely with trapped wind. We tried Mam and Avent bottles and with both you could see the air bubbles rising up in the milk from the end of the teat as she drank and she would swallow so much air but the filter works so well to stop that with these Dr Brown bottles. Obviously they take longer to clean since there's more parts and you need to make sure you clean them thoroughly but it's worth the extra time! The size of the bottles (9oz) is fantastic as well and the curved sides make it comfortable to hold when feeding baby. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that we ordered 6 bottles altogether and the caps are different on a couple of them so they don't fit the other four properly. We've had a couple of times where we've grabbed a bottle and gone out only to find the cap is so loose it just falls off all the time.
