I got it, (Amazon Prime Day $37.00) opened the box, attached the battery, quickly connected the blade, and went straight out to remove a tree from the roots.Seven minutes later, an entire root system (ranging from 3" to 5" in diameter ) was removed from my front yard!Kept the $100.00 the guy was going to charge (which wasn't bad at all) and went to dinner.Very nice addition to my power tool chest!

Very functional for the price. It does vibrate, but that’s typical, tho comparisons favor saws at 2x or 3x the price. Fully adequate for MY DIY/home use. Love it for trimming 3cm to 10+cm (1” to 4+”) branches and making shorter chunks for our 75cm (30”) fire pit. Im retired and the battery outlasts me and charges in maybe 1/2 hour. Nice addition to (old, corded) skill type saw; (small gas) chainsaw; hand operated “bolt cutter” for tree branches; they all have different primary and secondary uses/trade offs. This filled the gap as expected!Also VERY happy with the battery vs a cord vs hand sawing.NITS (4 vs 5 stars): vibration; adequate, not “impressive” power, rear grip not as comfortable as front rubberized sections for better stability.(FYI: IMHO, more comfortable to use 2 hands to cut, but one works when you need to hold something while cutting.)

I use this mostly for outdoor pruning and trimming. It's lightweight, zips right through most limbs, and can even handle ones a little bigger than it's rated to cut. A bonus is that this is a bunch safer than a chainsaw. If you get careless, you can still get hurt, but you'll still have your arms and legs attached, so if you're not dealing with a big, thick tree, go with this.The light weight is a big plus. I went with the smaller battery to keep the weight down, and later bought a second battery so I can keep working longer. If the extra cost isn't a problem for you, that's the right choice.

I would definitely recommend this and it's a great value for what you get... but, 2 recommendations for those new to reciprocating saws:1. Be VERY safe with this machine. Lock it any time you adjust or move. Wear protective eye gear. Literally follow every safety guideline they have because it is so easy to forget what this machine is capable of - if it can saw through metal, it sure can saw through any part of you. Also, take breaks because this (somewhat heavy) beast of a machine has a LOT of power and "shakes" a lot to do its job.2. I would recommend getting additional blades on top of what it comes with. The ones that come with it may work fine, but it's important to pay attention to the teeth per inch (TPI) and determining whether it's appropriate for the job you need it to. For example, one of the items I needed this for was cutting down limbs on a tree but I didn't really pay attention to that at first and spent way too much time working away at limbs than I should have.

Haven’t used it a lot yet, but it seems pretty solid. Definitely not as heavy duty as my dewalt but I got it mainly for a backup and for my lighter jobs. For the price it seems perfect for such.
