Q: What wood is it made out of?

It delivered in a surprising number of pieces and uses cam locks and nuts. I wouldn't say its a very strong unit but for our purpose and its price, we're happy enough with it.

Q: Is the built quality strong enough to take weight? Can this be secured to back wall?

It comes with fixings to secure to a wall and it is quite sturdy when put together. I would stand on the seat.

Q: Im having problems assembling unit is there an easier way?

It's a nightmare to assemble. We had a page missing of instructions so ended up winging it! We ended up searching for instructions for it on the Internet. Good luck

Q: Can you tell me the height of the seat?

The height of the storage lid is 40 cm / 16 in. It's not quite what I'd call a seat, but seemed stable enough when I sat on it.
