Hamilton: One Shot to Broadway

Hello: This is a DVD. How do I rate the DVD of a movie? If delivery of my items is for a review, then I can do that. They all arrived on schedule. And, I’m still reviewing each one for any problems of skipping or other problems. So far, every one is fine. Thank you.

Why this "documentary" sucks and is not even worth watching for free:1. The soundtrack is seriously off. That makes the film uncomfortable to watch. It's not a little off -- the soundtrack is very much off.2. There are no genuine interviews with Lin Manuel Miranda, any of the cast, the author of Hamilton's biography, or anyone actually involved with the play. All the interviews are with theater critics and historians that I've never heard of, giving me information I already knew. All the footage of Lin Manuel Miranda and the Broadway cast is taken from the internet, with "clips" of other interviews. But no original interviews.3. Some of the people who were interviewed are wrong, or just opinionated. One of the theater critics went as far as to say that Miranda should "graduate" from Hip-Hop to musical numbers in his next creative work. One of the historians mischaracterized the relationship between Hamilton and Burr.4. No music! No Music! This is a documentary about the most successful and relevant musical production in a decade. Yet none of the music is performed. They could have shown at least a little. All we see are the snippets that are readily available on the internet.So clearly, this is an unauthorized documentary, that couldn't make use of any copyrighted material. It's not worth your time.

Lin Manuel Miranda is a great treasure to America. This documentary is a small look into his talent and unyielding ability to create a masterpiece for the theater. Awesome play! Fantastic story even his nay sayers are in awe of his accomplishments. Everyone involved in the making of this play are incredible talents and sorely overlooked as the great actors and actresses they are. May we never make that mistake again. Thank you Lin. Words could not begin to explain the historic role you created as a writer, lyricist and visionary to theater worldwide. You are a true genius of our time.

I watched this one over on YouTube and thought I'd see if it was the exact same one I watched, and it was. lol I really enjoyed it. It gave a lot of good backstory of how the show became to be, and a little snippet about A.Ham himself, and how influential it is to the future of Broadway. While there aren't direct interviews, there are bits and pieces of pre-recorded interviews throughout. I think it gave a good glimpse into how this show came to be and how it still is relevant and will be for a long time.

I've watched this doc no less than 3 times. It provides a great backstory and contextualizes the creation of Hamilton the musical. If you are looking for a replay of the musical this isn't it. I wasn't looking for that. After seeing the musical several times I wanted the backstory and the context.I didn't like that they didn't identify the contributors by name ...I don't know who the people are that are giving their thoughts and opinions.

When ordering I didn’t notice this dvd was not the musical but a documentary on how this musical came about. Not what I wanted for my 10 year old.

I watched this hoping to learn more about the original cast actors, hear in their own words about their experiences and careers before and after Hamilton, as well as some of the work to prepare to produce the show. Instead I got a bunch of critics and nobody reporters talking about what Hamilton means, paired with still photos of the cast and a few seconds of publicly available performance footage. This is the video version of those junk pop-teen biographies they used to publish, where there's zero substance and all filler from people who dont know any more than I do, piled together from things you could find yourself if you search Hamilton on google. I'm very disappointed. Needless to say SKIP THIS, save your time, I didnt even watch the end its complete trash.As a side note.... Hamilton's original cast is putting a filmed original cast recording of the entire play into movie theaters around Oct/Nov of 2020. I eagerly await that.

Cuando buscas Hamilton el musical, te aparece este dvd. Con su portada y trasera del musical. En el título no te pone que son entrevistas, solo una mirada a Brodway, pues piebsas que es el Musical.No lo compreis, son entrevistas, nada más.
