SKIP THE TITLE. Read the book! Marlo book 2 please.
This is a great read for anyone who enjoys comical yet tragic play by play, raw, real life.Marlo in this case, is a fast paced, on the move self proclaimed fashionista. She and her husband take their dreams and are determined to make them a reality at almost any cost until the unthinkable hits. And even then their dreams were not dashed only bruised and bloodiedIn Marlo's case she was driven to her knees by the MonSter called Multiple Sclerosis.Native of New York, diagnosed while living and working in London. Sadly, socialized medicine did not help her situation. She explains the downside in this book. She fought rigorously to find hope. This book "Awkward Bitch : my life with MS" is that storyThe title is awful but the book is fantasticly written. There is nothing "awkward or b!tchy" about her!I look forward to her picking up the pen again and pouring out the next chapters of her life. A lot has changed since the final line of book 1.I loved it so much I read it in one day. And made a book recomedation to a few thousand other folks battling the same beast.

I really enjoyed this book
I really enjoyed this book. It was nice to read a book about someone with MS with a similar struggle to my own. I enjoyed the authors humor and found myself laughing out loud often. This was the authors personal journey with the disease. She stays focused on that aspect of her life and unlike some other MSer's autobiographies she doesn't "trail off" in other directions and become a lecturer on how to live or change your life. She is just a woman with a disease struggling to make sense of it and making the best of a difficult situation. She is spirited, funny, and uplifting. Definitely a recommended read to anyone that has been recently diagnosed or is close to person effected by the disease.

Inspiring
Great book to read when someone you know has been diagnosed with MS. Mark brings us on her journey through the most trying time with a laugh and keen fashion sense! A fast paced book that allows you to glimpse into the world of someone that is struggling through the first major attack of MS. If you know someone or if you're just curious about what it is like to live with this monster, this book will enlighten and entertain.Marlo Parmelee is a super-hero in high heels!

WOW! I loved this book!
This gal can write a book about the stumbling blocks from having Multiple Sclerosis in such a way, that you look forward to her next hurdle. Well written, interesting and funny. This is a breath of fresh air for anyone overcoming a not only MS, but ANY disability! I've only been able to read ONE book in my entire lifetime (over 50 years) I just don't have the desire nor the attention span, but I READ THIS BOOK FROM COVER TO COVER! Couldn't seem to put it down. Addicting. I was able to relate to it, totally! I highly recommend this book for MS patients, caregivers AND friends and family members. You will totally understand what we go through, and will be able to cope with it with a higher level of understand. KUDOS, MARLO! You ROCK, girl!

To the point
I read this three days after my doctor suspected MS. Not sure why this one caught my eye, but the author has a great sense of humor and has an interesting life, that it caught my eye. She lives in England during most of her journey and it's a completely different health care system which is also an interesting part of her story. This is great book because she describes her symptoms/episodes in such detail that it's easy to feel her frustration but because she's so funny you don't feel sad reading this book-just hopeful. It's more than just a book about multiple sclerosis. It's about keeping the faith that you will conquer this disease.

Great read for people with MS and everyone else!
I wanted to read this book because I was diagnosed with MS 2 years ago and I had never just sat down and read about someone else's experience. Marlo did a great job of really pinning down every feeling, physical and emotional, during her journey to diagnosis and treatment. My experience, though very different, was similar in so many ways. She really makes you "feel" her uncertainty and confusion. The first symptoms I had I did the same thing, telling myself it was nothing and I was tired and I needed to rest and it would get better. The author really got those feelings across. I also loved that she did not "rush" the book. She let the reader sink in to the descriptions and feelings that she went through and in the end I felt really connected to her experience.I highly recommend this book to people with MS and those who care for MS patients. It will give you new insight into the whole MS "experience" and let you see how it affects those who struggle with it.
