Charlie & The Chocolate Factory (2 Disc Edition) [DVD] [2005]

I personally prefer this film to the original due to quality and the script. It's a lot better played out than the origina and doesnt drag out like original does either. definitely a hit for my children.

I brought this as I refuse to buy the English version, as that don't have the songs also in German for me, but I can't speak for the other Languages, I think Johnny Depp did a great job of it, but Danny Elfman as The Oompa Loompas, was the Real Star of the movie as his workload in production was so much higher than all the other actors, I recommend this movie 100%, it's so well worth the money.

My kids enjoyed this though I confess my love for the earlier adaptation with Gene Wilder in the titlar role remains unshaken. This is a good modern take with some minor deviation from the source material that is entirely justified for a modern audience.It has a PG rating but has some darker themes, especially relating to dentists and braces that might alarm very oung children. My 5 year old was ok with it, but we had read the book to him so he kind of knew it all works out. I wouldn't be sure to recommend it to that age group. I'd suggest more in line with 8+.

100% need to watch

What's to say. A classic movie made a little modern from the original, but just as good and it's a movie you can watch over and over again. Good for all ages.
