Battery for Bose Soundlink Mini 2 088772 088789 088796 7.4 V Li-ion 3400 mAh

If your like me and just want to swap the battery in your Bose mini speaker do not buy this product. There are two types of replacement batteries on the market for a Bose mini speaker, one with a circuit borad pre assembled onto thebattery and one without. This product comes without the circuit board pre-assembked which the product description fails to make the reader aware of. If you buy this product then you will need to cut the battery free from your current circut board and try to connect this battery to your circuit board with a soldering iron and the other bits and bobs needed for such an operation.

Had the battery fitted professionally and my Mini Bose would still not charge !!! faulty battery. Not easy to send it back as faulty bit of a hassle still have it.

Very poor quality, the battery has no sound insulation like the original. That aside I have the tools and skills to fit this battery and after installation it does not work so has been returned. Bose are at fault as well as the Mini 1 was easy to change the battery but the mini 2 has designed in obsolescence.

Although the details say that the batteary is easy to install, it isn’t. It is necessary to disassemble the whole unit, to unsolder the existing battery and resolver the new one to the connections. This is no easy task and although I have some skills I stopped as soon as I saw what was required and returned the battery to Amazon. Amazon need to change the description for this item before h more are sold, or withdraw it from their merchandise.

Connected battery and didn’t work, checked firmware with Bose and all up to date.

This battery was professionally soldered and installed but would not charge past 40% and the device would only play when attached to the mains…. Unfortunately missed the returns window and wished I’d put the money towards a new speaker instead….

Unless you are a skilled electrician with micro-soldering skills you should avoid purchasing this item. They should not declare that it is 'simple to install' because it isn't.
