The Way Champs Play

I love "The Way Champs Play". It is easily read. I like the colorful illustrations too. It is perfect for both kids and adults as it shows scenes from a regular day of an athlete, which is both interesting and inspiring. I wish there was Play Academy when we were kids!

I got this for my 4 year old niece for Christmas and I’m not sure who was more excited, her or her mom! It is a wonderful book for children to to show them they can have fun while working towards whatever their goals may be. It shows the importance of teamwork and kindness and that being active keeps us healthy and strong. It is beautifully written and illustrated! Put plainly, this is a wonderful book!

I purchased this book for a 5 year old girl. It’s a very cute book with drawing withchildren of different ethic groups and a disabled child. I would recommend it for young children.

The words and story flow beautifully, has all types of girls which feels very inclusive, and the illustrations are gorgeous! Lovely book all around! Evident that Naomi and Kamala put so much love into this story!

Rhythmic and rhyming text that describes the best kind of play-putting in your all, having fun, and showing great sportsmanship. Written by Japanese-Haitian American, tennis star Naomi Osaka, the children illustrated reflect not only her family heritage but those of many other children. Also represented in the brightly colored pages are those in wheelchairs and they are playing just as hard as those on two legs. Sports and outdoor play of all sorts are included giving all children an opportunity to imagine themselves enjoying all manner of outdoor fun.Great title for home, school and public libraries serving preschool through grade 2. Would make a useful book for teaching vivid verbs, reinforcing the ideals of cooperative play and more.
