Product description Elvis Presley - Elv1s 30 #1 Hits - CD desertcart.co.uk Heralded in the UK by an ultra-cool remix by JXL, Elvis: 30 #1 Hits is one of the most succinct packages of Presley's best work ever released. Based on the idea of the Beatles 1 album, this compilation includes all 31 Elvis singles that have been number one in either the US or the UK. Set in roughly chronological order, the collection begins with his first hit, the swaggering "Heartbreak Hotel". Despite digital remastering it still sounds nearly half a century old when compared to his most recent (and posthumous) hit "A Little Less Conversation", but it remains a timeless classic for new generations to discover. Most people--young or old--will know of or be able to hum a few bars from most of the songs here. Many a karaoke singer will have had a stab at "Love Me Tender" or "Suspicious Minds"; others will have heard a family member brutally crooning their way through "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" or "It's Now or Never". Twenty-five years after Elvis's untimely death, younger generations have become accustomed to the image of Presley as a tragic icon of comedy excess, remembering him for garish jump-suits, trademark shades and a thick black quiff. Elvis: 30 #1 Hits will remind many that he was the King for a very good reason. --David Trueman Review: A good cd - Good collection Review: Quality item - Quality item good service

A short, sharp, to the point collection of the Kings’ most successful songs!
It says 30 Number Ones, but there is one bonus track as well (the JXL remix of ‘A Little Less Conversation’), so yeah, false advertising! Not really much of an Elvis fan, but thought it would be a good addition to my CD collection and I am a rock and blues fan, so I might as well have something covering the King! The runtime is surprisingly short for a 31 track CD! Wow! Were songs shorter back in the day! Songs rarely crack the 2:30 mark and very rarely go near or past 3:00, which isn’t a bad thing at all - short, sharp, to the point and memorable - just thank God this isn’t on vinyl! The songs are of course classics, and listening to this often inspires a ‘oh, I didn’t know it was him that sung this!’ moment very often. Great!

How time flies by! My current 2 CD compilation of Elvis Presley's biggest hits was issued way back in 1988. And to put it mildly the sound quality on that collection leaves much to be desired. Recently, I borrowed RCA's 2002 release "Elvis: 30 #1 Hits" from my local library and gave it a listen. The difference in the sound quality was astounding! It goes without saying that the technology has come a long way in the past 16 years. In my view, "Elvis: 30 #1 Hits" has got to be the finest collection ever assembled of the much beloved "King of Rock & Roll". All 30 tunes included on this single disc collection were #1 songs either here in the USA or in England where Elvis' remains incredibly popular even to this day. And there is such a wide variety of styles included here covering every phase of Elvis Presley's remarkable career at RCA records. You are sure to enjoy old favorites like "Don't Be Cruel", "One Night" and "It's Now Or Never" all digitally remastered and crystal clear. Amazing! Younger fans might recall hits from the early 1970's like "Suspicious Minds" and the hard driving "Burning Love" from the Fall of 1972. I was also pleased to find a couple of tunes I do not currently own including "Wooden Heart" and "Way Down" both of which made it to the top of the charts in England. And as an added bonus, RCA has included the 2002 worldwide smash "A Little Less Conversation". This remix of the original recording helped introduce Elvis to a whole new generation of fans. Listen to it a few times and you will find that this tune will grow on you too. If you are at all like me you like to see some decent liner notes when you purchasing a collection like this. RCA has included a nicely done 24 page booklet with this set. And best of all the price is extremely attractive. While I am not ordinarily in the habit of replacing CD's in my collection I am going to make an exception in this case. As soon as I stop typing, I am going to order "Elvis: 30 #1 Hits" and toss out my old collection from 1988. It is that much of an upgrade. Very highly recommended!!!

Produto excelente!

I was 18 years old, four days before heading to Vietnam, not knowing if I would ever return, I had just acquired a new to me, 11 year old Buick Rocket 88, in its day it it was considered the first true muscle car, light body, huge V8, chrome to spare. Our neighbor Mr Turner had owned it since new, he had loved as much as I was going to, but due to health he could no longer drive. Over the years he had known how much I had admired it, for years now I had manicured his lawn, shoveled his driveway, cared for his roses, and he wanted me to have it, he couldn't bear the thought of someone owning it who wasn't going to care for her like I would, my first car... On my first night with the car I just cruised, all over town, showing off my new wheels, I was on top of the world. As the night progressed my hunger grew, and I knew my time for a quick late night meal was diminishing fast, so I headed to Mel's diner, and that's when I saw her, a godess! True grace, her roller skates brought her straight to my car, even though others had arrived clearly before me. She smiled and asked "what will have?", I glanced at her name tag, "Lisa", I had always loved that name... I replied "a cheeseburger, fries, a root beer float, and a side of Lisa", she smiled, caressed my arm, which had been hanging out the window, and skated off. She returned a few minutes later with my order, she smiled and said "I get off in 15 minutes", she took a fry off my window tray order, and once again skated off. I ate what was the best meal of my life... We cruised around for hours, making small talk, she sat in the middle front seat, my arm around her shoulders, life doesn't get any better. We parked on Blueberry Hill and watched the sunrise, it was magic... That's when she said "my parents are out of town", so off we went... As we arrived she put on this Elvis record, we listened, and for three days and three nights of passionate love, Elvis was always on, neither of us wanted it to end. On the final night, as she slept, the reality of war set in, I knew then I might never see her again, from my wallet I took out a photo of myself and left it on her dresser. I slipped out the door. Some of you might have realized by now this album wasn't released until 2002, and this whole story is fictitious, in my defense I was bored... Good album though!
