She loves it and the price is reasonable than buying this in our country. I think this is the latest version. It does look big on the photo but it's not that big. Useful for students trying to be veterinary.

I have retired from medical profession.We have purchased some farms.Our long term goal is to set up an Equine Business.So I was looking for a medical book on horses.I decided to buy this book because this book is revised and up to date with lots of informations.It covers domestic animals farm animals etc.I have not read all of it.I have read the chapter on behaviour problems in animals.A bit about toxicology.Diagnosis and treatment of some medical problems among farm animals.So far so good to be true for the price of £32!

I am not a vet student, just for the interesting, coz I am a dog lover. One of my dogs has been misdiagnosed and delayed treatment before. I hope by ready this book, I would gain more knowledge and understand more about my dog.

First of all, if one has any pet, it is essential to have this in your library. The book is very affordable. If one goes to a cafe, 2 or 3 times, then same amount of money is spent. Yet, the value is imcomparable. Because no one care about your pet but you. It goes same with physicians, lawyers. They all work for money. Before one goes to a professional, one must be equipped with basic knowledge. For there are many mediocre lawyers, physicians and veterinarians. One does not have to read all, but it is esential to read where your pet is concerned, that is, if your pet is dog, read where it partains to. If a cat is your pet, read where it partains to. Hereunder is our evaluation; 1. Though mainly written, edited by North American professionals, the essentials applies UK domestic aniimals. It covers large area of diagnosis, treatment, and unfortunatelly, euthanasia part. 2. There is nothing difficult for non-professionals to understand. IN ANY STUDY, THE ONLY REASON WE FACE DIFFICULTY IS DUE TO NON-UNDERSTANDING OF A WORD, OR A TERM. IF ANY WORD CAUSES AMBGUITY, AVOID SKIPPING, AND ALWAYS CHECK WITH DICTIONARIES. It is cleary written, cleary type-setting, and using blue and black colours. Using of blue colours is very good to make it easily readable, and find the subject quickly. The reference is sorted according to a category, not in apphabetical order. 3. Why no 5 stars? Because, for the quick reference, at least the publisher should include anatomical diagrammes for easy references. Here we mean, at least the mammals, birds and fish which are common pets throughout world should be included. For the anatomical reference, we use VETERINARY ANATOMY OF DOMESTIC MAMMALS, edited by H.E. Koenig, and H.G. Liebich. 4. It is very light, and an adult can lift is in one hand. Very handy size, not difficult to carry when going to a vacation to put in a bag. 5. Particulary useful is information such as amount of protein needed for each type of animals are included. Again, there is only one in the world who loves your pet whole heargedly. It is you. If you have a pet, it is absolutely in your hand to protect precious life that Creator has entruted you to take care. Thanks to Amazon, this reference is available at affordable price to all people. Get us and read it even a page a day. Your understanding shall increase. Lastly, together with this kind of reference book, your own inverstigation and research into a preventive care for pet, that includes diet, excercise, psychplogical aspects, etc., should be in your libery. Pet is member of your family, they deserve your care and protection.
