These work great on my Outback 3.6R (rear). You do have to retract the piston by turning it back in. You can get a cheap little retractor tool to do this or, if you don't have one available you can just apply 12 volts to the emergency brake motor with some jumper wires and retract it back in using the motor. After retraction, just push the piston in a little further. Remember to disconnect the electrical connector first before removing the calipers. Very happy with these quality pads. They work silently and smoothly.

These pads were super tight to fit into the Forester calipers to the point where I think they'd be problematic to use. You could grind them down a bit to fit in the calipers better, but I don't want to inhale a bunch of asbestos to do so and am returning instead. The other set I used fit much better and allowed free movement and easier installation. These pads were also a bit wider than the OEM pads so I was forced to replace my rotors as well since even though they had some life in them, the OEM pads had channeled the rotors, so these new pads were riding on the pitted part of the rotor that was previously unused. This made the job a huge pain in the butt, because I had to put the forester back together with the old pads, order new pads and rotors, wait a week, and do it all over again in an ice storm. Very unsatisfied and I wish Amazon would not recommend these for a 2019 forester. I'm sure they'd work fine with a brand new set of rotors but thats not necessary every time you change pads.

Pads seem top notch and installation went well overall, but wrong retaining clips included.

The photo shows the retainer wires but those are not included. Otherwise, the pads fit well. If anyone from Bosch or Amazon is reading this, please send me those retainers. Thx.

Amazon may have the wrong calipers listed and "verified" for your vehicle. If you wait longer than 1 month to go install and find out they are wrong.... - Amazon will not allow you to return them and will instead direct you to Bosch. - Bosch will not allow you to return them and instead direct you to Amazon. Quality wise - I've used this brand several times before on other vehicles - they have been fine.
