Four stars
Stars given on level of engagement;5 stars - less than a day to read because I cannot put it down. I only give 5 stars if it has managed to engage extra emotions from me - extreme lol moments or real teary moments etc. A 5 stars book tends to have me raging about cliff hangers and (legally and not creepily) stalking the author for release dates.4 stars - 2 days to read or less. A book that I have quite enjoyed reading, feisty MC and some racy scenes with thier romantic interest. I would definitely follow a series and author for 4 star books.3 stars - takes around 2/3 days to read, usually because I have become distracted and less engaged in some sections but by the end the end I have enjoyed the overall story and would read any sequels.1/2 stars not given, as I have usually returned it without finishing as I'm not engaged. .

Monsters
The biggest monsters may not be the hybrids made in the lab but the experimenters and guards - guardians. The monsters can still love but the guardians only know cruelty when it comes to them. Alongside their hardship there is a love story. Recommend.

Brilliant series Starter.
I Loved this book!!This book was all go from the first chapter, Riva is strong, Brave and extremely Loyal. The Guys (well the jury is still out on them). There was loads going on with quick pacing and loads of action. None of that stopped you from really feeling for Riva. This book made me Cry and i can't wait for the next book.

amazing
I’ve loved this book, the twists and turns all the way through were amazing, I would have hoped for a bit more of a grand gesture from the men after all they put riva through but the plot was incredible. 5/5 finished it in one day, laughed and cried and will be ordering the next asap!!

Monsters galore
Love Eva’s books and this one is a real emotional rollercoaster.I love Riva, she’s such a powerful and loyal character who despite everything just wants her guys and her relationship back to how it was before the escape attempt.Eva writes the best monster books and the Shadowblood that have been created by twisted experimentation using human and shadow kind DNA. Riva and the guys just want to be normal and not hunted, they hate their enhancements. There are a lot of powerful emotions her, you can feel Rivas angst here.A fantastic start to a powerful new series, can’t wait for the next book.

Great read.
A great start to a new series. Riva and her men have been held captive for all their lives, when an escape plan goes wrong she is torn from them into an even harsher life than she had before. But when she manages to escape and return to them they hate her and don't care about her side of the story. Will things get better?

This was an intriguing beginning
This was an intriguing beginning to the series it’s a paranormal reverse harem with an enemies-to-lovers theme. I wouldn’t really describe this as a bully romance more of a misunderstanding leading to lots of hateful actions and words and Jacob seemed to be the main source.Riva grew up in a facility with her boys all of them are very other with emerging abilities that are growing and evolving as they age. Bred and raised together in a lab this is all they have ever known after an incident results in tragedy Riva is separated and confined away from what she considers her only family and blood. it’s been a long hard four years alone so after she discovers a new terrifying ability and finds herself unexpectedly liberated she obviously heads back to what she considers her one safe haven her boys only to discover they now all seem to hate her and for something she is entirely innocent of.Jacob Andreas Zian and Dominic all blame Riva for what they consider her betrayal. They believe her actions and disloyalty caused the death of Jacobs's twin Griffin. The only thing Riva can do now Is attempt to prove her loyalty through her actions which isn’t easy when all that gets thrown at her is suspicion and hate.As the group grow closer to their end-goal bonds will need to be reaffirmed and allegiances cemented. Riva will also be driven to the brink as she discovers that the boys she once loved with all of her heart don’t hold her in the same regard. The endgame when it finally arrived was bloody brutal and the aftermath of Rivas's actions means she’s once again terrified that her family will reject her for the monster she feels she now is.This was an easy read and the action was non-stop I’m intrigued to discover where this is going to go next especially with Riva revealing her new talent so unexpectedly. This was told from multiple POVs but this first book was for the majority of Riva and her thoughts with just cameos from the boys. I would like to get to know them much better as I did think some individuals here shone brighter than others. Overall though I’m invested in what’s to come and this series has definitely captured my imagination.
