Once again…
Once again, I’m caught into Sleepy and Lizzy! You can tell he’s a native of New Orleans…when you read his books, you can see the places and literally taste the foods. And behind every story, there is a lesson.

Let the Spirit Take You!
The sixth book in the Sleepy Carter series kicked in the door! Usually the build up is subtle, this one started out creepy and at night, then went full throttle 90 miles per hour. I was hanging there thinking this time I would catch the killer with Lizzy and Sleepy Carter. PLOT TWIST!!! I was totally clueless on this one, and I loved it!! Sleepy and Lizzy make quite a pair, and you root for them to solve crimes and become true partners, but the secret hanging over there heads make the relationship so complicated and tenuous, you don't always know what to root for...is it justice? truth? because they are not always hand in hand. Enjoy this series! It is wonderful!

Never disappointed
Brian W. Smith has a way of captivating a reader as soon as you read the first sentence of his books. The development of his character, Donald “Sleepy” Carter is well thought out and absolutely mind blowing!Sleepy and Detective Elizabeth “Lizzy” Silverman make quite the pair. I’m on the edge of my seat to see what Brian has up his sleeve for the next book in this series!!

True
Another page turner. This book was well written and I couldn’t stop reading until I finished. The plot was amazing and I didn’t see the ending coming. There was definitely a gotcha moment at the end.

Another Winner
Brian W. Smith has done it again. Voodoo contains all the drama, suspense and shock as the first five books in the Sleepy Carter series. Thought I had figured out who the perpetrator was but in true BWS style, he threw in a twist! As Lizzie celebrated another solved case I anxiously awaited to find out what Sleepy’s fate would be….and then the book ended! Sooo, Sleepy Carter I guess I will see you in the next book in the series.

Another Great Installment!
I enjoyed the sixth book! I love how Brian takes readers on a ride of an intriguing murder mystery intertwined with historical lessons about the history of New Orleans. As always, I'm looking forward to the next installment. This book has become my newest favorite within the series, along with Coffee, Beignets and Murder and The Mardi Gras Murders.
