Very easy to fix; very reliable in use
This product arrived from HRH solutions within two days of ordering and well before the first delivery date quoted. It was to replace an LP112 which does not provide for different timings for hot water and central heating nor for different timings weekdays and weekends. The LP522 caters for both sets of differential timings, so long as you have a fully pumped system (rather than a gravity system, in which case the hot water is automatically on when the central heating is on). The LP522 has the same backplate as the LP112, so unscrewing the LP112 and removing it, and replacing it with the new LP522 took just a matter of minutes, with no need for any rewiring. The new programmer has the time and date automatically set at the factory and the correct time showed up straight away on switching the electricity back on. Programming the timings on the LP522 was very straightforward as well, and there is ample opportunity to go back over your choices if you get something wrong. With three separate on-off timings per day, it gives a great deal of flexibility on when you choose to have your central heating and hot water on, thereby potentially saving you a lot on your gas bills. So far, it has been in operation for a couple of weeks, and it has proved very reliable.

Great item - one for one replacement
I was a little skeptical that it would be as simple as was being said in the reviews, but actually it really was straight-forwards. The house is 20 years old and the previous programming unit had been there all that time. Unscrew the two small retaining screws at the bottom, tilt upwards and lift off. Then the new one, undo the same two screws and remove the wiring unit as you don't need that, just place it onto the wall socket connector at the same angle and lower into place. Tighten the two screws. I think it took 20 minutes in total, and I could probably have done it quicker than that. One really minor gripe, the set up instructions are brief and it takes a few minutes before you have one of those lightbulb moments and from there on in it's clear.

Surprisingly easy to fit - looks neat and works well
I ordered this to replace a very old mechanical controller; the Switchmaster 900.Having read some of the reviews I was reasonable confident I could do the job myself (despite the warnings in the instructions). As the old version was 'portrait' format and this is 'landscape' I knew I'd have to replace the backing plate and that meant changing the wiring over. I switched the power off after having searched for as much information as I could regarding the configuration and after taking a picture of the old backing plate with the wiring in place as a reference point I proceeded to change it all over.Fixed the back plate to the wall, installed the controller, switched the power back on and it worked straight away! The clock was already set to the correct time as it has an inbuilt battery backup so I just had to customise the timings that I wanted for weekdays and weekends. All in all, very easy to fix as long as you prepare properly, it took about as long to set all the different timings as it did to install the controller. The instructions are quite daunting but not indecipherable.Overriding any of the programmes is easy - just push a button - and it looks very neat. All in all I'm very pleased with it.

Highly recommended and easy to fit
I bought this to replace an old Drayton timer which had limited functionality. It was a great price compared to other retailers and originally I intended booking an electrician to fit it until I read the reviews which made me think I would try to fit it myself. I have never done any DIY before (tend to leave that to my husband) so I can't believe how easy it was to fit to an existing back plate. No rewiring required and it took longer to switch the electric off than it did to fit, amazing! Within 5 minutes I was able to set individual times for my hot water and heating (each allowing 3 time periods a day) plus different times at weekends. I'm delighted and wish I had done it years ago!

Simple Electronic Programmer installation- child's play!
My Lifestyle CH/HW programmer, after 25 years(!) began to look incredibly tired and was not retaining the desired programme. £65 and 18 hours later the replacement arrived and it took around 30 minutes to fit. It should have taken no more than 5 minutes but the wiring patrice broke when removing the programmer - doh! Anyway, it's a really easy job to update an ageing programmer and this new one has made setting the times and frequency of my boiler much nicer! Would recommend.

excellent price and works exactly as needed
Quick delivery, excellent price and works exactly as needed, therefore five star. Just a note for anybody installing themselves. Unit fits onto the old backplate (although a new one is also supplied) BUT BEWARE if the old unit is hard to remove, as mine was because it had been painted-in over the years, DON''T unscrew the holding screws all the way out or you will have to take the old backplate off the wall to get the nuts into a position that the screws can be reinserted. I don't think that the instructions tell you to only loosen them but maybe they did and I didn't read them correctly.. Anyway my fault entirely and it turned a five minute job into a good bit longer as the old backplate was well embedded into the wall!

Overpriced electronic device in a digital age.
This works OK. It's fiddly to programme and the options are limited. Considering what you can get in a cheap phone or a raspberry pi these days, it's seriously underwhelming technology. Can't wait to replace our heating with with a smart system. I can't imagine Drayton will still be a going concern in five years.
