Best books there are on ASD
Many books on autism are hard-going reading, and I've ditched many part-way. These are totally different and are laid out perfectly. You can just dip in and out, using it as a reference book for specific advice, reading only what is relevant to you at the time. You don't have to plough your way through the whole thing to benefit or for it to make sense. A MUST for any parents of ASD kids and all school teachers should be made to read these too, as so many could learn a lot about engaging with our amazing kids on the spectrum. Highly recommend buying these and keeping them handy as each day can bring new challenges and the advice is spot on and invaluable.

Great content, usable strategies
I find these books ( I have both blue and green) very useful in terms of offering both understanding and strategies to support my children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. I've bought and read a number of books about ASD and confidently say that Nason usually is a very good advocate for the child with autism, with his focus on helping others understand the behaviours and communication rather than on eradicating behaviours deemed unacceptable by neurotypical people. The books have a useful section at the back filled with checklists and charts etc that help you record and profile some of the characteristics of your own child with autism. This I found very useful because, as any parent or carer of an autistic child will tell you, there are far few tools available to you through the educational and medical channels.

Informative
This is informative and a valuable addition to any parent or carer's toolkit if navigating the uncertain territory of autism. Short and pithy 'chapters' get to the point and the book can be read in any order. Admittedly much of the contents can be found on the group's facebook page but this is well worth purchasing to have 1) the content printed and collated in an indexed format and 2) because this is just easier to use than a facebook search. There are other titles in the series which I will be looking to purchase in the future.

Moving and extremely helpful guide to understanding the reasons behind any given behaviour patterns.
This book is stunning. Every page moved me to tears. It is of use to any parent in motivating them to find acceptance for their child's inner nature and see beyond mainstream society's attempts to make people who process experiences differently feel unwelcome. Each page is a total gem.

Discuss and learn.
Bill Nason knows his subject and has written a book here that gives any parents hope, not of a cure certainly, but a means to understand and help those they love diagnosed on the "spectrum". I recommend this book.

Highly recommended!
These are brilliant books. My son is autistic and whatever I read from here I end up nodding with recognition. It is all explained so clearly and there are some very useful tips to help you understand and help them.

A useful book, in parts.
A good resource for practitioners and parents with good understanding and a good practical approach shared in this book. However, it is too repetitive; some jargon words and some ‘overreaching’ interpretations of the current scientific knowledge are repeated too often. The book is a compilation of blogs with seemingly no attempt to edit it. A good editor would reduce its size to a quarter and make it more accessible.
