Very easy to install
I wanted a better cooler for my ryzen 3600 than the stock one and some how I ended up finding this and purchasing it. It was cheaper than the high end ones, but still felt like it would do a good job for its price. My high temps dropped from 90 to 80, and idle was a lot cooler too. Recently upgraded to a 5800x3d and this cooler works perfectly for it. I added a 2nd fan (a kaze one with same RPM but slight different CFM but no issue there) and I think I even underused the paste, but it was still enough where playing games I never go above 70 degrees celcius, and it only hits 90 when doing really intense stress test. Most benchmarks keep is down to 85 at max (and I live in Florida, AC not always on blast). 5800x3d is a hot CPU with the l3 cache, but this cooler does great keeping it cool and undervolting helps temps on the 5800x3d a little. The best thing about this cooler was how easy to install it was. I wanted a cooler where I didn't need to mess around with crazy brackets and such, and this one has a couple but they are very easy to install compared to most other CPU coolers I saw. It includes a nice magnetic screwdriver as well. It is pretty quiet, but the 2nd fan I added made it a little loud when running at full load, but honestly not that bad and you might not need to run it at full RPM like me (florida).

Delightful install
I bought this for my AMD 5800X3D. Not sure how it's going to do with temperatures with games yet, but so far resting temperature is lower than my 3700X with Wraith cooler.Installation was easy and enjoyable. The little screwdriver it comes with is really nice too.

Fantastic and quiet cooler
Got this as it fits the NR200P. Changed the fan out for a chromax a12x25 which fits nicely and suits the look.

Great PC air cooler for an affordable price!
After 2 years it was finally time to send the stock AMD Wraith Stealth cooler on my Ryzen 5 5600x out to pasture. They are decent entry-level coolers included with some new processors, but I was very dissatisfied with their overall performance, even after proper, quality thermal paste re-application. I don't even overclock my CPU, I just wanted it to run more efficiently and generate less heat. When it came time to look at a replacement, this cooler came highly recommended by the PC gaming community on Reddit and Facebook. The Scythe Mugen 5 is a great, affordable option for air cooling. It was super easy to install and came with all the tools/instructions you need. It even came with a little tube of thermal paste, which saved my behind upon installation, because I realized I'd lost my trusty XTM70 paste. While I'd have preferred to use my own paste, it was nice to know I have some that will tide me over until I upgrade my CPU down the road. There are tons of mounting options for this cooler as well, depending on the CPU socket, so just read the product description and ensure it'll fit your board. As for the numbers, I immediately dropped a whole 20c at idle (from 50-30c) which was pretty wild, but what really amazed me was its performance in intense gaming. In demanding titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, Battlefield 2042, and Modern Warfare 2, I regularly saw my CPU hit 95c with the Wraith cooler. After installing the Mugen 5, now it doesn't go above 60c (on average.) That is an insane 35c drop in temperature, in real-world gaming scenarios. I didn't think changing out to a more robust air cooler would entail such a HUGE difference but I'm glad I made that leap! I can game with confidence knowing my rig will handle whatever I throw at it, and when it comes time to upgrade, I know I'll be in great shape. My PC specs:-Windows 11 Pro-Azza Photios 250 ATX mid-tower case-Asus ROG Strix B550-F Gaming motherboard-AMD Ryzen 5 5600x 6-core CPU-Scythe Mugen 5 Black Edition CPU cooler-Nvidia 4070 FE 12GB GDDR6X GPU-Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 RAM (64GB)-Corsair CX750M 80+ Bronze modular PSU-Corsair SP120 blue LED 120mm case fans (x4)-Kingston V300 120GB SSD (Boot drive)-Seagate Barracuda 8TB HDD (Gaming drive)-Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD (Backup drive)

Perfect for 3800x, adequate for 5900x
Cooler was packaged well, everything necessary for installation is included, and there were no bent fins on the heat sink or damage to the cold plate. Instructions are sparse but the diagrams are simple to follow.Installation is mostly easy - with the exception of the spring tensioned screws. The screws are a little difficult to tighten compared to others. It is a little challenging to get to the screw under the heat sink (on the left side) without removing the entire motherboard from the case; it is doable, but it is much easier to install this heatsink after removing the entire motherboard from the case. This cooler dropped my idle temps on my 3800x from 45-55*C to 30-40*C over the stock Wraith Prism cooler and my max temps from 80-85*C to 60-65*C. This drop in temps is likely a consequence of better thermal paste & paste application (pea sized drop method), the bigger fan, flatter cold plate, and the style of heatsink complemented by an airflow oriented BeQuiet Pure Base 500dx case. The best thing about this cooler over the Wraith Prism is the lack of fan noise. It is mildly audible at higher rpm’s, but even then it whispers compared to the constant droning, revs, and cycling of the Wraith Prism. It’s like a totally different system; I only hear the air being moved through the case now.I recently removed and reinstalled this cooler in a new build with a 5900x in the same case and it’s doing fine - idles as low as 32*C and runs up to upper 60s under loads. When the heatsink starts to seem saturated, cpu idles around 45-50*C. I have the cpu set to “auto OC” via Ryzen Master, running at 5050GHz and the cooler is perfectly adequate. If you’re not hardcore overclocking and set yourself up with decent air flow, you can definitely cool a 5900x with this, even while sitting above a very hot 3080ti OC.
