Yeah, sure will, it's not as small as it looks in the photos, it's not so big that you wouldn't want to carry it in your ruck/day sack. It's good for a good sized mug of hot water. I've been using one for years, the only reason i got a new one recently was because a rock fell on my last one! I couldn't recommend anything better than Trangia kit, yes it is a bit more expensive, but you sure get your miles out of it! Hope this helps.

Does it fit in the trangia mini pot and allow for the lid ( frying pan) to close on top?

Yes, brilliant too. Full it makes 2 travel mugs of tea
