I love these smart notebooks. Only heard of them recently and feel like I missed on a lot! I love paper and taking notes, but was worried on how to organise and preserve the information in them. Incredibly Moleskine has found a perfect solution with these smart notebooks you can transfer into your phone or computer! Still amazed by this. The notebook is perfect for me and incredibly useful. Maybe I am not 100% sold on imitating a tablet with its look, maybe in the future they could just go back to normal looking notebooks. But other people may like this shape. Otherwise it's great.

I prefer not to take anything into a meeting that suggests that I will be concentrating on taking notes rather than participating, so I have used smartpens for a long time. The voice recording is very good, ideal in fact for a 'darkened room' presentation, assuming permission is granted. It's also handy for departmental and/or Board Meetings where it may be crucial to make sure that everything is recorded. As you would expect from Moleskine, the design principles are spot on. The Ellipse Pen shape takes some getting used to, and the angle of the pen to the paper needs to be optimal as well, especially when starting writing from 'off'. This instant on feature is a good innovation for me, although I find it better to press the pen to the page slightly and wait a beat before writing, otherwise the first letters may get lost. The 'tablet' book design is not for me; it is style over substance, and makes life more difficult, especially as there is no ribbon to keep your place. The size is identical to my ipad Mini, and I would prefer something more pocketable, for example like their notebooks, for goodness' sake! The tiny little books are too small to write steadily on, and the ipad Mini-sized ones are too big to draw out subtly in a meeting. What is impressive is the transfer to phone/tablet/PC software, which is almost instant and generally pretty accurate. The main downside to this is that you have to make up your mind which device is going to be most useful to you, because you can't keep a full record on all of them without shutting them all down except your favourite. It's a big step forward from the Echo smartpens

Not happy about this since there is no pen to come with it , which on the picture it shows the pen as well which you normally expect it to arrive .

I appreciate that with the pen it does some cool stuff - BUT, why did they need to make it so expensive ?

Man muss das Angebot schon sehr genau lesen, denn dann wird im Vorfeld klar, das ist nur dann ein Paper Tablet ist wenn man für bis zu 200 € den entsprechenden Stift dazu kauft. Mir ist das tatsächlich erst beim Auspacken des Tablets bewusst geworden. Folglich kann ich über die Funktionen gar nichts sagen. Denn das sind mir definitiv zu hohe Folgekosten. Optisch ist es ein sehr schönes Tagebuch, gerade wegen der Tablet Optik. Ich schätze Moleskin schon seit vielen Jahren als notizbuch und auch als Kalender. Hier sollte der Hersteller überlegen ob er den Stift nicht günstiger anbietet, denn für 150 bis 200 € kriege ich schon ein ganz gutes echtes Tablet. Ob man das an alleine mit stylish rechtfertigen kann weiß ich nicht. Das muss natürlich jeder für sich selber entscheiden.

What I liked is that it's from Moleskine so I knew the quality would be exceptional. It goes perfectly with my pen, of course. I am not keen on the design. I wish the pages were inside the book covers. I hate how the pages curve way outside the hardback and hard front. It makes the white pages so easy to get dirty. Can't stand that. Lastly, they're very expensive. I'm not even really using my pen after all this. I hate how you can only use the Moleskine app with the pen and the Moleskine app is not great. There's way better writing apps out there, but my pen won't pair to them. I hate it when companies do that. Hold you hostage! If I had it all to do over again I wouldn't buy it.
