Great purchase so far
Just used this mat today. The main two features that I was looking for in a mat were: 1) portability and 2) stickiness. This mat hit the target on both. The mat is light enough to carry around town and thin enough to not be bulky. I used it today during my hot yoga class and I did not slip. it gripped amazingly well to the floor. It does have a smell (like other reviewers said) but I left it laying last night and it was not as strong this morning. Honestly, I don't care much about the scent if portability and usability are there. Great purchase so far!

Flip it over from more grip!!!
I bought this mat for hot yoga, THEN read the reviews. NOT the correct order, I know. After reading the reviews I wanted to cancel the order, however it had already shipped. QUICK!! When it came I reluctantly opened the box & broke the seal. I figured I would use it for regular yoga classes or give it away if I did not like it. Well, the one side is a bit slippery BUT if you flip it over the backside has a bit more texture & is PERFECT FOR HOT YOGA!!! I love that it is not TOO heavy but still is a substantial mat. Not whimpy & flimsy. I am a yoga instructor & recommend this mat.

Non-slip yoga mat
Was looking for a lightweight mat that I could carry around and this worked so well for me. This is lightweight and the 3mm thickness was just enough to protect my knees from hard surfaces and I love the mat’s grip. Whether doing yoga or any type of exercise anywhere, this is a good choice. (I read that Manduka is environmental friendly)

best yoga mat
Best yoga mat hands down! I got this one on sale for $40-45ish but normally these Mandukas sell for a lot more(70-80$), and are worth every penny! I do hot yoga so there is plenty of sweating hands/feet etc. and I had a hard time finding an actual no-slip mat...well here it is! The only negative is the smell, it smells like rubber, which doesn't go away with time. Its not a very strong smell but it's definitely there, especially with your head to the mat!

Stands up to everything I throw at it. (sweat)
After cheap mats and cheap rentals, this mat is everything you could ask for. I sweat. And I love hot Vinyasa. Not a good combination right? With the rentals I would frequently find myself fighting not to lose my pose or slide my hands. Aside from one late-in-session attempted wheel pose, I did not slip! at all! The wet-grip tout is nothing short of completely accurate. I put this mat through the ringer and it was wonderful. That being said, I have not used this mat outside, so I cannot speak to its abilities with other moisture sources. It is pricey, but you can either buy cheap mat after cheap mat or you can buy this mat once and use it into oblivion. For my fellow ultra light packers out there: It is reasonably lightweight for the heavy duty quality, but I probably wouldn't travel with it on my back.

Overwhelming rubber smell and poor grip
I do 6-7 yoga classes a week in a variety of forms (heated vinyasa, general hatha, yin/restorative) and I purchased this mat because I've heard great things about the Manduka brand and I thought this lighter version would work better for me. I would not recommend this mat at all. First of all, the rubber smell is overwhelming and does not dissipate. I've had this mat for over 6 months now and the smell has not lessened and I've found that when I lay on it for a prolonged amount of time (such as during a yin class), any exposed skin absorbs the smell. It also has terrible grip for my heated yoga class. It seemed slippery from the moment I stepped onto it and it was nearly impossible to use once I started to sweat (My hands and feet kept slowly sliding farther away from each other in down dog and had to be constantly readjusted). If you are looking for a good natural rubber mat, definitely go with the Jade Harmony.

Great mat...not that great for travel...isn't lightweight
This is a great yoga mat...i don't slip on it. only downside is the smell which doesn't seem to go away and also i ordered it as a travel mat and i don't find it that lightweight. so i use it as a mat at home.

Love it!
I really love this mat! It is eggplant purple with a very subtle, chic zebra textured print. Its eco friendly and it is super thin, which I love. Like, very thin.. no cushioning to speak of, but lots of stability and connection to the ground when you practice yoga.

Small bad
I would like like to give 5 stars as a delivery came on time. Yoga mat is feeling good, unfortunately I cannot handle with a strong rubber smell. I got a headache all the time when I get this smell and It’s quite heavy to carry to the gym.

A huge improvement from my old mat which I got ...
What led me to this mat was what I hated about pvc mats: plastic-y smell, glossy and slippery surface, lack of resilience (my last one fell apart with just my calloused feet), and awful suction noises when rolling it out and back in. A huge improvement from my old mat which I got at a discount store. After nearly 6 months of using it, it has & continues to hold up quite well. It is grippier and the surface and material of the mat allows quite good grip even when the mat gets wet; however, downward dogs after particularly sweaty vinyasa flow session do get difficult. I do recommend trimming and filing your nails and toenails as sharp ends and certain transitions have made tiny nicks on the surface of my mat, resulting in more frequent washings (rather than wipe downs) to keep it sanitary. It did smell fiercely of rubber for weeks, even after airing it out (as per instructions), wiping it down with store-bought mat sanitizers, wiping it down with diy mat sanitizers with essential oil, washing it & air drying it...Will probably make another purchase (or at least return to a rubber mat) once my current one starts disintegrating.

GRIP INCREIBLE
Súper recomendable; el olor a caucho no me molesta en lo absoluto y el grip es impresionante; cumplió ampliamente mis expectativas.

Pleasantly Surprised
This is the first yoga mat that I have purchased and I really like it!In the past, I have used those cheaper plastic mats and I always found they did not provide enough grip for my body and it would slip around on the floor. After trying out my cousins Manduka Lite (also good) I decided I should invest in a nice grippy rubber mat to maximize the yoga experience (I consider myself an intermediate yogi). What I liked:The grip - it was easy to hold poses confidently and I felt more in touch with my body and the surfaceDense cushioning - I typically do not mind working directly on the floor, but having a bit of coushin added a lot of comfort that I was not aware ofClosed-cell surface - sometimes when I use other mats, I wonder how much sweat and dirt has collected in the material, but with this, I am more confident those things are not being trapped in the mat as I can actually see itSustainable - I am pro environment and anything that helps abate the harmful effects on the environment are a plus in my bookDislikes:*Be advised these are minor and can be a result of the price/tier of mat I purchased*Grip - it was not as grippy when used in hot yoga and excessive sweat was involvedSmell - the new mat had a strong material smell, but this is probably with everything when coming from the manufacturer. It went away after a few usesLength - I am 5'11" and when I lay on my back I fit on the mat, but when laying on my stomach my chin and face extend past the mat. This was my fault for not looking at the measurements priorDirt - Since the material does not absorb dirt or bacteria, it was visible on the surface, so you consciously have to wipe it downPortability - It can be rolled up, but it does not come with straps and it is too thick to be foldedI have had the mat for 3 months now and I am happy with the price I paid to upgrade over the basic mats. If you are not sure if it's worth it, I suggest giving it a try, you might be pleasantly surprised! Manduka eKO Lite Yoga Mat, Acai, 3mm, 68"Manduka eKO Lite Yoga Mat, Acai, 3mm, 68"
