I have to give 4 stars due to having to shave edges to get it to fit other than that good product.

Make sure everything is there. Got the hives and looked like good quality and key but not the hive house to put together. Packing was also damaged on 2 sides but could have been carrier.

Before anyone thinks I’m just bashing this box, I’d like to start with some positives. The fir wood seems more durable than other knock off flow hives that use pine and it comes coated in wax making it water resistant. The hive is beautiful once assembled and the flow frames seem to work just fine. I appreciate the notches on the base for secure seating on boards to elevate the hive. Now… the assembly aspect is awful. The only instructions included are a booklet giving guidance on how to convert a traditional Langstroth box to support flow frames and one sheet of paper with a breakdown of the pieces included in the kit but no actual written instructions on assembly. Many of the pieces look very similar but the diagrams are not entirely accurate and do nothing to help you identify pieces. They do fit snuggly together making the boxes feel secure but some of the measurements are off just enough that a couple of panels cracked during assembly because the wedges didn’t quite align. The kit comes with a large bag of screws. We used all of the screws depicted in the diagrams and still came out with about 10 extra. I’m also disappointed to realize, after assembly, that the hive didn’t include any frames for the brood box. Hopefully they also sell brood frames or I’ll have to go through the sticky task of finding frames that are just the right size as there are no universal hive dimensions.
