Stanley STA46053 Carpenters Squares

Great tool, very durable and easy to adjust the angle setting. I found that care must be given in setting to 90 as the adjuster can go slightly beyond but otherwise good. fits in my toolbelt perfectly and is lightweight so you don't even feel the weight of it carrying it all day.

Needed an adjustable square. This is nicely solid and measurements are deeply engraved. Would recommend.

ive owned this square for a good few months but forgot to reveiw it! its very good quality but unfortunately i mistook it for the larger version! still a handy little bit of kit that gets pulled out the van regularly. if you work with large rafter material id say go for something a bit bigger!

Best hand tool purchase for a long time,far cheaper.Really good square,far better than the traditional quick square where you have to pivot to set.Already used on a hand cut roof, which made setting up birds mouths a doddle.Also quick set up to find roof pitch’s.Haven't used hip and valley settings yet,I still used ready reckoner and measuring.It would be nice if the rafter runs were metric but not major issue.

I just had the Stanley square delivers to my address, very happy with the product but need to know if this is supposed to be like this, to me it looks snapped but who knows, please help

As a Joiner of 14 years I thought this was a great tool to add to my toolbox. Made working out the hip roof easy work.

Excellent bit of kit. The adjustable arm makes it a lot better than a standard roofing square & it's handy for finding out angles when used with a sliding bevel, I use mine all the time (I'm a carpenter). Seller was fast to deliver, would recommend.

Just added this qlongside my other squares and it's very handy when doing multiple cuts with same angle. loving it. With that said I would prefer the markings to be a bit more thinner for better accuracy.

I have all the aluminum rafter squares of varying sizes. The functions are identical, however, the adjustable arm makes ALL the difference. I'm building hexagon shelving that requires beveled joints cut at identical degrees. With the traditional square you have to remeasure the angle to make each and every cut. With an adjustable arm locked in place you are assured the exact dimensions are fixed i.e. you can make repetitive cuts. For me, this was very handy in that I made 18 cuts. Saves a ton of time. Yes, they are perfect, I did not have to go back and redo.

I bought this little square 3 years ago and was then choosing between a standard speed square and this adjustable one. I'm really glad I got this one as its angle adjustment ability has come in handy more than once or twice over the years! It works very well and once the adjustment thumb screw is tightened it's as good as a solid (non-adjustable) one.
