Star Wars Omnibus: Clone Wars Vol. 1: The Republic Goes To War (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)

If I had to choose between never reading this omnibus again, or never watching a single episode of Star Wars The Clone Wars again, then I'd turn my back on The Clone Wars in a heartbeat.This collection of standalone stories, mostly connected by Quinlan Vos, is one of the most entertaining Star Wars reads out there. The art is some of Dark Horse's best and the plot and characters would have made for a better movie than most of the ones that did make it to the screen.This arc contains some of my absolute favorite Star Wars moments, such as Quinlan Vos and Aayla Secura in Sacrifice, the titular (albeit unfortunately short) Defense of Kamino, Aayla Secura vs. Aurra Sing, a rare Shaak Ti-centric story, and Obi-Wan, Anakin, Zule Xiss, Master Glaive and Alpha-17 vs. Asaaj Ventress and Durge. Even characters killed after a single issue make incredible impressions in this volume. Every battle scene positively reeks of what makes Star Wars great.

I love Star Wars legends materials and this was a fun read, its fun to read the clone wars multimedia project and compare it with the Filoni Clone Wars

This is what I am truly reminded of when speaking of The Clone Wars. This was before the popular cartoon series and required only the truest form of fanboys from this beloved Star Wars. I grew up with this stuff and plan on buying volumes two and three. I remember having a few of the issues in this collection as a teenager but regrettable sold them in a garage sale years ago. Purchasing this omnibus has allowed me to delve into my nostalgia while also completing the big picture of the over arching story by placing different comic series in sequence. I loved this graphic novel. Also, compared to a comic running around 3 or 4 bucks, this collection is well worth the money with around 400 pages of beautiful art.

Some great short stories, some kinda slow and rambling but it is full of beautiful artwork. Would recommend, especially if feeling nostalgic.

I never got to read these as a child. I always wished I could, but we weren't that wealthy growing up. With the new Disney cannon I thought it would be much harder to find these treasures. Now I've found them on here and I couldn't be happier. The stories are brutal. But action packed and some have happy endings. My only complaint is that a handful of these stories don't seem long enough, as I want to learn more and more about the Jedi and Clones in them. Oh well, on to the next one.

Decided to pick this up after watching the Clone Wars television show because I just couldn't get enough. No it doesn't have Ahsoka or some of the other great characters from the TV show - but even still I really liked it!!! You have Ventress and Alpha (the character Rex is based after). And you get a lot more about the other characters that are just barely touched on in the show. It also fits in nicely with the movies, and I think is a good bridge between the movies and the show. I definitely recommend this if you love this era. I can't wait to read the rest!

Product came in a timely manner and was well described. I recieved the book in “acceptable” condition and it’s still in great shape. It’s a very thick paperback novel so they can take a beating. I’m not a collector, I am just in it for the read.

A must have for any star wars lover!

Star Wars Omnibus 1 is a collection of solid dark horse stories that have their own very hardened take on the Star Wars galaxy. Their characters are complex and leave you wondering though I do wish the omnibus was more chronological rather than the weird asynchronous where some volumes have some stories and not others.

This book is awesome. I loved the fact that to understand this book you don't have to know star wars inside out. I bought this because I receive the new star wars title from dark horse comics and I wanted to know a bit more about star wars and its characters. And trust me, I did. The art work is incredible and I adored the all action story line. Never a dull moment. Outstanding.
