Jane’s Patisserie Everyday: Easy cakes and comfort bakes THE NO.1 SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER

I gave Jane's first book 3 stars and the second 4 stars. This book lies somewhere between the two for me. At first glance, there are quite a few recipes that take my fancy to try - from the nutella loaf cake, apple and oat cookies, jam roly poly, raspberry and White Choc Muffins, red velvet cake and hummingbrid cake.With this being an "Everyday" book, I had really hoped for more cake recipes - specifically 2 layer cakes and loaf cakes and not the usual behemouth 3 layer cakes Jane favours. The 3 layer cakes look impressive for a party but I don't know many every day home cooks who have the time, energy or the massive amount of ingredients (the cost of which is huge these days!) to make these monster cakes the majority of which I think will end up in the bin due to the sheer scale of sponge involved. I said in my previous paragraph that the hummingbird cake is one that I will make, but only if i can scale down the ingredients accurately to make a 2 layer version. Same goes for the millionaire cake and for her traybakes which look delicious but again are massive.I also have to say that the savoury options are not for me. I have no problem with Jane branching out into the savoury area as lets face it, there are only so many ways to change up a sponge cake and the never ending NYC Cookies she does (am I the only person who doesn't get the hooha with these?!) but the savoury recipes in this book do not look inspiring to me at all. Everything looks stodgy and oddly pale/bland - the pasties look dry and bland, the sauces in her pies look very watery and cheese/puff pastry seems to feature in everything. If you look at Jon Watts by comparison for simple mouthwatering savoury recipes, Jane has a lot to learn in the savoury end of things for me.Would I recommend this book? I guess that's down to personal preference. For me, her second book Celebrate is still my favourite of the 3 books however there are a good few bakes in this book that I will try and for €13 it is definitely worth it. I do feel that the "Everyday" theme was a bit hit and miss though by times and the savoury was way off mark for me. A bit of a mixed bag.

Fantastic 3rd book didn’t think after the first two there would be much different in it how wrong I was there is so much more even savoury and sweet was surprised at seeing a recipe for toad in the hole and can’t wait to try all the recipes ,I’ve raved about Janes patisseries to my friends and families for ages now and when I do bake usually bake several things as everyone wants some ,keep it up Jane Dunn you make me a good baker with your easy to follow recipes xx

I have all her books and this one is just as good. Easy to follow recipes which always taste delicious. A great author and cook

I loved Jane’s second book, was a bit sceptical about how this book would beat it, but it does! You definitely need this recipe book in your stash - a fantastic collection of everyday baking and cooking recipes, full of incredible ideas and inspiration for everyday and easy entertaining! The photography is beautiful and I love the layout and how easy the instructions are to follow. Makes you want to get in the kitchen asap and bake all night!

Was really excited for book three and it hasn’t disappointed. A mixture of sweet and savoury with a few classics updated and merged with other recipes. Who doesn’t want a bronut?!Great to see a move into savoury, with recipes from pies and pasties to Camembert bread.For beginners to passionate bakers this is another great recipe book from Jane and will be used everyday!

Great recipes, easy to follow, pictures for all recipes and all the ones I’ve cooked taste delish.

If you have never seen Jane's Recipe's then OMG you are missing out.Get this Book and get the whole 3 and get making her Food , so so Yummy.Love the Book..
