When the pain is severe enough to have to buy a compression sleeve, the colour is the least of your concerns, but I opted for the black ones - as would have done if I was pain free.I was using a neoprene brace which was a little too tight and needed to be removed every now and again for relief from the brace itself, this however, gives more of a light squeeze, and can be confidently worn overnight, which you would not want to do with anything that has a tighter fit. Both serve the same function in different ways so don't complain about this product not applying more pressure, it's not meant to.You can apply pain relief gel and put the sleeve on top without worrying about it seeping through to your other garments and this allows the maximum amount of gel to be absorbed by your skin instead of the covering.The size you select matters, and the degree of compression you need will depend on what your injury condition is like, since you get a pair of them, you could always put the other on top for a little more pressure if needed - it's one part of your pain relief and recovery plan, and it definitely does it's part very well.

Box was clearly opened by a previous user, no biggie for me but maybe for others.Not much compression at all, but as the other reviewer said the top band is extremely tight compared to the rest of the sleeve, so I've knocked a star off.

Bought not for compression / support, but for keeping baggy clothing tight ot my arm when shooting. I ordered the XL and found this big enough to go over 3 layers inc. waterproof coat, without constricting circulation.

These "compression" sleaves keep your arms warm but don't do much else. I tried these as I have bad elbows from climbing and martial arts, but I get more compression from my Skins compression tops than I do from these. Whilst they do keep your arms warm, and they do grab the top of your arms they don't do much else.

I ordered according to my size (by the chart given) and the amount of compression wasn't that great - I could just about feel it, however the that's at the top of the sleeve really dug into my arm to the point of being painful and left a mark. Really not comfortable at all.However, if I'd ordered a larger size, I'm pretty sure the compression would've been totally inadequate.

Bought this to help after I damaged my tendons in my forearm while digging drainage pits. This support enabled me to finish my project. Keeps elasticity after washing.
