Dimplex 1.5 KW Oil Free Radiator with Thermostat

These are brilliant little heaters. Takes about 10 mins to warm up and take the chill out of the air. 20 mins and the rooms are toasty. Haven't had to use full power yet. They are being used in conservatories at the moment, measuring about 2m x 3m. As they are so small it's easy to tuck them away when not in use. The 'new heater smell' wasn't too bad and disappeared after about 40 mins. Easy to use, does the job and a good price. Would definitely recommend. They have made two rooms that are completely unusable in winter useable.

Arrived in 2 days, and I was surprised how light the box was when the delivery man handed it over. Unpacked and attached the castors, and plugged it in. In about 10-15 minutes an unheated room of 4x4 metres was comfortably warm. I then rotated the thermostat back until it clicked (as per the manual) and the unit would automatically turn on to heat up the room and then off when the desired temperature has been reached. It works quietly, we don't hear anything. There is an occasional quiet click when the thermostat comes on or off, so you know it's heating the room or turning off for a while. I didn't hear any metallic clicks like some users mentioned. I keep it on power setting I (1,000W). There is also setting II (1,500W) that I don't use to save energy, but it's there if you need a more powerful option. When operational, the hot air comes from the top of it, and the sides are warm, but not hot. There was a barely noticeable factory smell of either paint or metal, which quickly wore off in an hour, and now we don't sense any strange smells. The unit is really small, compared to other heaters and really light, easy to carry between rooms if need be. The legs/wheels/castors are sticking out a bit too much to my liking, but that's probably a good safety feature so it doesn't touch furniture or other objects when it's hot.

Firstly, lets get what I don't like about this heater out of the way. It has an incredibly short mains cable. The sockets in my shed/workshop are set higher from floor level than would be the case in a house, hence the cable just reached the socket and nothing more. Now, other than that, it is a great heater. During the recent cold spell, I set it on the 'frost' setting, and it consistently kept the temperature in the shed around 4.5 - 5.5°C overnight, while the outside temp dropped as low as -4.7°. Set at a higher stat setting, it's more than capable of keeping the shed at a cosy room temp. The shed is 10' x 8' x 8'. Now in my case, I have voided my warranty by extending the mains cable, but it was genuinely impractical otherwise.

Bought this to warm up my little workshop shed during the winter months & its proved to he just the job! I usually switch it on an hour before I intend to stars doing any work & by the time I start it's just warm enough in there , after about a further hour or so I indemnitley end up turning the little thermostat down a bit ( usually to half ) was also very easy to assemble , just pop the castors on & you're ready to goHave had this over a month now & can highly recommend for the price

I bought this so that I could add extra heat in my kitchen during the bad weather. It was easy to move to the lounge with it having wheels and I used it there. I needed an extension in the kitchen as my sockets are above the work surface and it would not reach all the way but was fine in the lounge as the sockets were just above the skirting board . Glad I purchased this as it was used during the cold spell we have just had and made a big difference to the heat coming from the other radiators in both rooms.

This radiator gets hot quickly with a lively flow of hot air being emitted from the top of it. I've tried cheaper oil radiators that just do not come anywhere near to the excellent output of this radiator. Temperatures can be easily adjusted to suit, so purchase with confidence, this is a superb radiator for the money that will heat a room fully in no time at all!

Bought this for our office reception which does not have any direct heating. Nice, compact size which hides under the desk and our receptionist is ecstatically happy as she is now snug and warm at all times. Just unbox, plug in and that's in. So easy to use. Would thoroughly recommend.

Great service, product arrived really fast. Already have 2 of these, prefer oil free. Lightweight, easy to manoeuvre with simple heat setting dials giving full heat control. Auto switches to desired temp setting.
