I am writing this review after using these Tapo cameras for a month.Given the price, I was excited and thought it will replace my Arlo camera. I was so wrong.Cons of this camera -1. There is no continuous/24-7 recording option. The normal battery based cameras in market has 2 options - First is to use battery based camera without power plugged in to do only motion related recording to conserve battery. Second option they give is continuous 24/7 recording when the camera power is plugged in. That is a normal expected behaviour out of any battery based security camera and all Tp link has to do is copy this feature and implement in their product. I would like to see this implemented in their future firmware update.2. AI Detections are not precise: The AI has very hard time recognising animals and vehicles. For human detection it works to some extent but for a very close range of 10-15 feet( The Arlo ultra can detect person/ animal/vehicle at 40feet+). If someone is walking away from camera direction, it doesn’t detect the human. Human is detected only when face is facing the camera side or while walking towards the camera.The animal detection is a complete failure even at 10 feet. The other Arlo camera I have can detect animals up to 40 plus feet range( even in night )The vehicle detection doesn’t function fully too. I have tried multiple motion sensitive settings. If AI detection is your priority, this camera is not for you.3. Sync issues and reliability issues: After a power failure/reboot of the Tapo hub which these camera are connected to, it doesn’t sync with internet properly. Sometimes it blinks red/green light after a restart. Sometimes just red light. I have to reset and configure again to make it work. If your area has power failures/outage, this camera is not fit unless they fix this sync issue.Pros of this camera1. Cheap price2. Decent 2k quality3. Night colour vision is good for the price4. Easy to configureOutside the camera issues, there is issues with the TAPO app as listed below1. Playing back motion detection from message/alert page doesn’t work every time. You have to restart app or a camera to make it work again.2. No cloud 24/7 continuous recording option available like Arlo. Some other models give option for continuous using a memory card but if camera is stolen/tampered/damaged, those continuous 24/7 recording are lost too with it.3. Can’t zoom on cloud videos without downloading themOverall if they can add the 24/7 continuous recording to this camera when power is plugged in, this camera will a good fit given the price they have and will make them competitive. The AI of Tapo has a long way to go.

This thing is a waste of money. It has lots of problems with the software. The videos don't look good, and the battery doesn't last long. Plus, it doesn't even record continuously. It only records short bits of action, like 20 to 30 seconds at a time.

The camera is really good and being totally wireless makes a lot of difference and convenience. But the battery life is not at all near the claim of 180 days. Never expected the cameras to run for 180 days on a single charge but in between 30 to 60 days. But one camera died in just below 10 days and the other is at 38% after 14 days. If TP Link gives the Logic that motion detection was high than they should have mentioned that the cameras should be installed in a place when there is no activity. Pun intended!The quality of the cameras are impresive though more battery power is appreciable and an USB C charging (currently Micro-USB)Suggestion to TP link to start selling additional battery pack and camera in single pack with for those who want an extra camera but not two and USB C charging.2nd Update:After one full discharge & charge cycle the battery is running for more than 25 days and still have 40% charge keeping is mind that the cameras are installed on the Main Door and Lobby where movements are high.

I was trying to build tapo ecosystem, sensor and camera.I have already tried different products of tapo.But wifi camera from tapo are not promising.You cannot record 24 hours in this. There is frequent disconnection of network.So at the time you need to view. This won't work

The camera is effectively useless - it doesn’t detect motion even at the most sensitive settings, so there is no notification if anyone walks passed.It seems that it depends on which way people are walking also - if someone is walking towards the door, then no notification. If someone is leaving, then you may get a notification. This is with both cameras.Otherwise you can look through the cameras and see video, but without the motion detection it doesn’t record since this camera isn’t meant to continuously record. So it’s a waste.

Funktioniert einwandfrei. Sehr einfache Installation mit Anleitung durch die App.Die App ist logisch aufgebaut und ohne Mühe zu steuern.

Ürünü uzun zamandır takipteydim güzel bir indirime denk gelip aldım. Görüntü kalitesi filan çok güzel. Ben bir tanesini dış kapının girişine taktım yaklaşık 10 günde %8 şarj harcadı. Normal diye dusunuyorum eve girip cıkanları algıladığı için. Kablo vs derdi olmadığı için güzel birşey.

Und das ist auch der einzige Nachteil, man kann nur alle Aufnahmen gleichzeitig löschen. Keine Einzelnen.Die Kamera kann man anschrauben oder einfach hinstellen.sehr praktisch.Ansonsten ist die Qualität super, alles funktioniert, auch mit den vorhandenen Tapo Kameras in der App. Bildqualität gut. Sehr gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis
