Everything you need!
Where to start? America to London within 5 days, thats a big thumbs up already. In appearance its a sturdy hardcover book with a soft cloth covering, debossed gold stamping design too (meaning the gold features appear indented into the book cover rather than being just stuck on or standing 3D from the cover). 3 ribbons. About 4" by 6" sizing, what I would consider "inbetween pocket and compact" size. Superior quality overall.Inside. Its a treasury of prayers and is totally acceptable to be used round the clock to mark/pray the Hours and sanctify the day. I like how Morning Prayer (Matins) can be cut short (see photo) before the 6 Psalms. Vespers, Little Hours, Compline... its all there. Even the small Paraklesis to the Theotokos. Plus lots of other goodies, particularly this "A Safeguard for the Soul" which takes you over a daily examen for a month. And of course more personal devotions, for health, for loved ones, for purity .etc..For a small book its got a lot in there. Newrome Press have a real gem in this, I feel. I cannot recommend it enough. Glad I paid the extra tenner for express delivery too. One day these will be more wide spread in the UK, hopefully!

Perfect
Contains Psalms , prayers for someone in trouble , prayers before travel etc. very specific, probably the best one you can find that sticks strictly to praying. Others typically have ceremonial things in it like what you’d say at weddings and what not. This is strictly about individual prayer. However at the end it has meditations for each day of the month by St Nikodemos, which gives you the common questions about prayer, ex how will i pry in the hour of death as I’ll be too weak and it explains the basic concept of hell and how to avoid it, and how to gain entry into the “paradise”

Wonderful Prayer Book, easy to read!
I absolutely love this prayer book. It is easy to read. My 10 years old daughter likes it as well, different kinds of prayers and in a simple language using You/Your.

A Treasure Which Every Christian Should Own
This book made me gasp. It is truly a beautiful holy text. The size is perfect for taking with you everywhere. The binding is just wonderful. Too many times have I come across poor binding in publications for Eastern Christians. It even has end papers inside the covers. Who does that anymore?! A very welcome, long-forgotten aspect of book binding reappearing in this volume. The layout and graphic design is amazing as well. No copy-pasted, pixelated line drawings here. There are many richly colored icons from Mt. Athos (a couple of Pantokrator, Theotokos depictions, St. John the Forerunner, the Prodigal Son come to mind) and original line art interwoven throughout the text. The wonderful aspect for me was that the images were not printed on a glossy photo paper like most books but a sturdy, cream paper. The color scheme is as what would be expected for any Orthodox prayer book: red and black with red framing around the prayers passed to us by our Holy Fathers. The typography is very well done and in excellent taste making good use of titles, negative space, and stylized text to distinguish between headings, prayer content, and rubrics/liturgical instructions. The prayers are wonderfully chosen and especially put together with a lay person in mind. For example, after the introductory prayers of the morning prayer the book gives you the option to simply end the morning prayers there, or to continue on as needed. This is perfect for people living in the world who struggle to split their time between our earthly obligations (like getting to work on time!) and the duty to worship God. I ordered this book because it's a small volume, but it has some major hours (morning prayer which uses the hexapsalm and doxology, and vespers) with minor hours (3rd, 6th, 9th) along with akathists. I don't know of another Orthodox prayer book that contains all of these things in one place, which is an instant win for me since I actually usually only have time and energy to pray during the day rather than night or evening, which most Orthodox prayer books for lay people seem to be emphasizing.I would have liked to have the text of the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom so I can use it as a typica (I don't live near any Eastern churches) which is sadly missing, and the typica itself is missing as well, but I'll live. The rest of the content and its portability and quality make up for that for me.Buy this for yourself or as a gift for anyone. It's well worth the price.

Gorgeous, well crafted prayer book for Orthodox.
This the most beautiful, well crafted Orthodox prayer book in English. It contains 12 color icons (10 of which fill most of a page) from Koutloumousiou Monastery on Mount Athos, plus a few line art pictures. Each section has a decorative chapter head. Each page is in color, with a red decorative border around the text and red section headings. There are two color ribbons. The size of the book allows it to be easily held in one hand. The pages are on heavy paper with next to no bleed-through.The translation is mostly from the late Archimandrite Ephraim Lash, with light editing by Fr Michael Monos (e.g. "Holy Mighty" instead of Fr Lash's "Holy Strong". It largely follows the prayer book of Nea Moni on Mount Athos, with some changes by Fr Michael Monos. There is an excellent variety of prayers: morning, vespers, small compline, the first, third, sixth, and ninth hours, and before meals. The Salutations to the Theotokos and Prayers to Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Small Paraklesis and Preparation for Communion and Thanksgiving after Communion prayers are included. There is a brief Prayer of the Heart and St Nikodemos the Hagiorite's "A Safeguard for the Soul", a daily meditation for a month, translated by Fr George Dokos. Finally, there is a section of occasional prayers which included other morning prayers, prayers for onself, prayers for loved ones, for the departed, prayers before any task, for those in distress, prayers for purity, for spiritual guidance, for the sick, and for travelers. A brief list of fasting periods in the church year, and a Paschalion from 2016-2029 conclude the book.In sum, this beautifully designed book invites the reader to linger and pray just a bit longer.
