Took me a while to get the batteries in correctly, but that's my fault. Works well, feels solidly built, makes things glow.

Super strong - watch your eyes! We bought this to help finding cat pee spots in our house; historically we would have to wait until after dark to make sure we could see any spots, but this light will uncover fluorescence even in the daytime! Definitely worth the upgrade - only drawback is that it isn’t rechargeable

It worked well for what I intended it for, just wish batteries lasted longer.

I have a few Yooperlites (common rock from upper parts of Michigan and UP Michigan) and they have speckled fluorescent material. Before I got this, I had a cheap UV light that barely worked and only if I had the flashlight close and while it's dark, which made hunting for more Yooperlites useless.This flashlight was fairly pricey compared to the first one ($3) but it is of narrower UV range and has stronger output which meant I could hunt for rocks at night without having to crawl on the rocks. Also it's easier to see the glowing rock even under indoor lights, useful for show and tell type presentations.

Very bright - excellent for making my fluorescent rocks and minerals pop. Only kind of downside is that it churns through batteries pretty quickly but I’m not surprised based on the power. You’ll notice after a while that the light isn’t quite as powerful anymore - that’s your hint to go ahead and put in new batteries. Once fresh batteries are in, it’s back to full force.

Used them for rock hunting, bought two. One worked amazing the other got hot and quit working, light dimmed and went out. Did find some rocks on our trip so not a total fail.

works great! The light does get kind of hot when you leave it on for a while. The UV light does drain the battery quickly. try it on your passport, driver's license and currency.
