Has anyone actually used this against a car window?

Yep, I used this to smash a side window on a van. It was surprisingly easy to use (I had tried initially to smash the glass with a metal pole first!)

Tested today, gladd breaker clicked once activated. Seems to not have reset as it doesnt click now and black bit is loose?

Hello, normally there is nothing to do to reactivate it. And he new or already use several times? It may be that the internal spring is off to try to make it work again shake one can head down to get everything back up, I see with the manufacturer to find a solution as quickly as possible. It is small and compact. I've tested seat belt tool and it is extremely sharp, very good. I've tested the power from glass breaker and in my opinion, believe that it wud break glass, if applied in the right area. I have mine cable tied to my handle above my drivers door on celling, so Its easily accessible to pull out in case of emergency.I have shown my family and thy are impressed. Thy r getting one in their stocking!

If the window punch is not resetting then the device is more than likely broken. My escape tool has been used many time through work (Fire Service) and it has not failed me yet, the same for the rest of the guys I work with that have one too. Contact the supplier for a swap/replacement. Hope this helps.
