The simple and neater solution to extension sockets. In the past I have always used extension sockets generally anywhere from 4 to 6 gang ones, in some cases a couple of them on a double ganged socket. The thing is with extension sockets is that they come with cables attached to them to which you can either just put them on the floor or fix them to a wall or a desk. They do a good enough job, but having all that extra cable dangling down the back of a unit or desk is really what made me look at an alternative solution. Having come across the Duronic multi socket extension adapter on Amazon, it very much looked like I had found the best alternative solution. Just like most extension sockets these days it comes with surge protection, though no doubt some are better than others. But most houses come with better fuse boxes and have circuit breakers with trip switches on them today, so having the very best surge protection I do not really see as a necessity at all, and what we have here is adequate enough. The Duronic multi socket extension adapter is a very neat alternative and even the spacing of each of the 5 sockets is around the same size of your conventional extension sockets. So, you should not have any problem using conventional 3 pin plugs and most power bricks. Obviously, some power bricks can be massive, but with those you are still going to have the same problem as you would with a conventional extension socket. The other good thing about Duronic’s socket extension adapter is that it will fit both flush mounted sockets and those where the back plate protrudes out from the wall. Oddly enough I have both on either side of the living room, and I never got around to flush mounting the one for my computer like I did with the other one on the other side of the room which is where my HiFi is has you can see in the photos. If Duronic’s socket extension adapter does have a drawback it would very much be down to it not being quite sturdy enough. For example, it’s not ideal to simply insert a plug into the sockets that are further away from the middle one at both ends. The best way is to put all your plugs into the adapter before plugging it into the wall and turning on the power switch. You could also turn off the switch on your main socket and put your hand firmly against the middle of the adapter whilst plugging in the other plugs. So, it’s not really a problem at all and is to be expected being that all of the 5 sockets are being held by 1 plug in the middle. The good points are that the 5-plug adapter sits nicely below your main socket so that you can also fit a plug or even a power brick into the other side a double ganged socket (has shown in the photos). It also has individual on/off switches so you have more control over what you plug into it. It’s also made of a more durable material and has a rubbery plastic feel to it, so it’s not easy to break. Overall the Duronic socket extension adapter is a very good product and one I very much prefer in relation to normal extension sockets that come with cables. It does the job adequately and neatly and even despite the fact that it’s not sturdier and more robust. It still gets 5 Stars from myself and I highly recommend it.

Synopsis: Prompt delivery, well packed, good build quality conforming with appropriate safety standards/regulations, useful features, keen price, all combining to deliver good value for money. Comments: I have now bought several of this style of multi-socket of which I find this particular one to be the best. Firstly it provides FIVE sockets not 4, like many of the others available. Each of those 5 sockets are individually switched with its own neon indicator to show when the power to that socket is on, making it easy to check at a glance whether or not the item plugged in is live. There is also a power neon indicator for the whole multi-socket. The multi-socket if fused with a 13Amp fuse that is easy to access to test and change as neccessary. I use this multi-socket on my workbench where I tend to have several power tools plugged in for any job I am working on. It works well for me as I can check at glance and have confidence that a tool is not live before changing an attachment. Conclusion: I am well pleased with this product, it is decidedly fit for purpose and I thoroughly recommend it.

Excellent product! Clear indicators of which socket is actually on. Looks good performs well. Doesn't get warm, never mind hot! I rarely have more than 2 sockets on, but I have had all 5 on at once, no problem. With the Addition of 2 usb ports, it's even more convenient, adaptable! I have 5 of these now, in all rooms of my apartment! Many Thanks.

This product is something I have looked for, for quite some time. Having seen them I purchased two, which are now in permanent use and will buy more. Previously I have used a surge protetctor on my TV/Satellite set up and desk top computer using the trailing socket type cables which have single plug which plugs into socket, various lengths cable terminating in 4 or 6 sockets for tv, skybox, dvd player, hdd and home cinema. Also computer, vdu and amplified speakers for pc setup. The problem using those was that those sockets and lengths of cables remained hidden for so long until because so difficult to clean and vacuum were left and when moved attracted dust by the bucket load. With the Duronic multisocket because the unit plugs into a single socket, the additional sockets plug into each of the 5 sockets each individually switched. This now causes no problems because there now seems less muck and dust because the sockets are off the floor, and as a result easy to clean around. In addition I have thought of the unit being 'reversed' so that the wall socket would be at the bottom rather than the top, I really can't see that much could be gained, I can see however that the current design is far better and more heavy duty able to carry the weight of cables and plugs plugged into it. The multisocket is unique being black in colour, I cant really see anything would be gained in it being white as it in my case and for many other people would be using it on a tv or computer installation it is behind the tv or computer and therefore out of sight. I would certainly recommend this product it is a super amazing buy, and would suggest that anyone looking for connectors and cables should look at the Duronic range on Amazon.

I think this item is well made and seems sturdy. There are 5 socketseach with an individual switch. It dioes what it says basically. However, the down side is, I have it in my kitchen as i need to expand the amount of plug sockets. I have 3 sets of side by side double sockets around my kitchen. When I plug this in, although it doesnt cover the other sockets, it is so close to the bottom of them that you cannot actually get another plug into the original sockets as the wire from that plug is blocked by the adaptor, so the plug wont go fully into the socket. Basically this means that where i have a double socket, i have only gained one extra socket with this adaptor If this was slightly lower when plugged in, this would avoid this problem.
