Best I’ve used
Effective with water based paints cleaned quickly and economically (ie you don’t need to use much of it). Have yet to try it with solvent based. Very little odour.

Weird Stuff But Gets The Job Done....
I bought this as a replacement to my usual Vallejo airbrush cleaner as a) it was incredible value (price to volume) and b) a reputable brand name. As the title suggests, this stuff is weird. Unlike regular cleaners, it has a soapy quality - fine when shooting it through the brush but almost like a bubble machine when back flowing air (by blocking the nozzle). Having said that, IT DOES CLEAN THE BRUSH VERY WELL! The only other thing of note is the almost hysterical safety notices on the bottle warning of imminent death upon using this product. However, I've been reliably informed by members of the local model club that this is typical of West Coast American legislation and should be viewed / used as such! Would I buy it again? Yes if the economics are the same.....

Used on my new Airbrush device
Best to use for Airbrushing device's. Though it's non-toxic I wouldn't suggest you use in the house without a window open. It's best to spray it outside when cleaning the Airbrush. However it's a recommended product for your Airbrush by Model Hobbyists. It definitely does what it says regardless. Should be a regular item for any Airbrush user. As part of your cleaning regime.

Best Buy
An essential product. Easy to store and control the amount you use. Keep the red plastic sealer as you can put it back in when finished to stop any accidental leakage.

A good airbrush cleaner, it does foam a bit when back-blowing it through the brush, but does the job.

It seems to be as good, if not better
Not sure how many bottles of this I've gone through, and bought. It seems to be as good, if not better, than Vallejo's airbrush cleaner. It's definitely good value for the money.

My go to has been isopropyl alcohol for cleaning my airbrushes until recently. IPA does clean out the airbrush nicely after using water based paints at the end of a session based on a test I conducted. I discovered this cleaner did find some residue remaining after 99% IPA use from petroleum based enamel paints. I haven't tried it on dried paint as I clean my airbrushes after each session thoroughly as a preventative measure. I normally have a week or more in between sessions. I still use distilled water and IPA for color changes during a session depending on paint type, but I will be using this cleaner from now on for end of day clean up along with my ultrasonic cleaner afterwards. The 32 ounce size of this brand is economical when compared to other sizes and manufacturers by price per volume. I do recommend placing a piece of plastic wrap over the neck under the cap to prevent evaporation over time once seal is cracked. I do use this product specifically for cleaning the airbrushes. I use a separate thinner for reducing paints along with flow improver for what I believe to be the best results on my finished works.

The Medea Airbrush Cleaner is now a staple in my art supply cabinet. Whether you're a beginner or professional, if you work with airbrushes, paint brushes, or even inking tools, this solution is a game-changer. Pros: Deep Cleaning Power: It truly flushes out every bit of paint residue—even dried-up acrylic and stubborn pigments. I’ve saved more than one clogged airbrush needle with this stuff. Versatile Use: I love that it works across mediums—acrylics, inks, dyes, gouache, even oil-based paint tools. I've even used it to restore a brush I thought was ruined. Ready to Use: No mixing or diluting required. Just pour and clean. Makes cleanup faster and easier, especially after long painting sessions. Gentle on Tools: Despite its cleaning power, it doesn’t damage my brushes or wear out my airbrush parts. It’s effective without being harsh. Great Value: The 32 oz bottle lasts a long time, even with regular use. It’s an investment that pays for itself by extending the life of your gear. Cons: Slight Chemical Smell: There is a light odor, but it's not overpowering. I recommend using in a ventilated space just to be safe. Not Ideal for On-the-Go: Because it's a larger bottle and not travel-sized, I poured some into a smaller squeeze bottle for convenience. Bottom Line: Whether you’re using this with airbrushes, traditional brushes, or any fine art tools, Medea Airbrush Cleaner is worth every penny. It performs better than most “universal” cleaners and helps protect your investment in tools and equipment. Highly recommended for artists, modelers, and creatives of all types.
