Setup takes time, game is difficult
I'll be honest, we made it through the setup one time, played for about 5 minutes, then decided we needed to study the instructions a bit better to grasp the full context of the game play. This is a super cool tabletop game if you're a Mega Man fan, which we are, but setup takes a while and it's not a fast game. I recommend it to anyone who has the time to set it up (we kinda don't as we work full time and have a kid), who doesn't have pets that will carry off the pieces (again, that's not us... we have a thieving cat!), and who has the mental fortitude to read through the rules several times to learn how to play (I'm exhausted just thinking about it!). But overall, it's a totally cool game, definitely worth adding to your collection even if you just end up having it and not actually playing it, and the concept is really cool! I can see myself having a little more time for this once my kiddo is about 10 or so and can help with setup and learning the rules. If you're on the fence, just get it and go from there!

Appropriately hard for Mega Man
I thought for sure this game was going to be a cash grab, but I was pleasantly surprised that this is actually a pretty well thought out game. All the pieces and cards seem very simplistic and colorful, but there is actual thought behind how everything works. The instructions are pretty well written, though there were a few spots, like solo and 2-player variant, where it was a little confusing and could have used more detail. The game is equal portions strategy and luck. Drawing the cards and rolling the dice that you need play a big part in the difficulty level, and some of that reliance in luck is tempered by being able to pick which cards to take in some cases and choosing where to use each card. This can be a very difficult game, just like the video game, where one bad draw and one bad roll in a single round can ruin the whole game. The game does become a bit easier when you play with multiple people, but again, it's very much up to the rolls and card picks.

Really detailed explanation of the game and confusing parts
I love that this game is based on the mega man universe. The mechanics they use are very video game-like. The way you go through “stages” to beat each monster at a time is unique as heck. I loved it.The turn begins by drawing cards. The second step is planning with your teammates how you’re going to go about completing the three monster stages presented in front of your hero. You have to use support cards to help your hero as well uniquely help your allies. There’s no being selfish in this game. The third phase is attacking the monsters one stage at a time and rolling to save the video game world! Once all “stage” cards are beat, you’re fighting the main boss. Each player gets one. Finally, you clean up the cards and reset the game or if it’s the end of the game cheer your win or sob your losses. From reading other peoples reviews online it sounds like they stick to the lore of Mega man and actually have the bosses fight the way they would in the real game so you’ll get a hit of nostalgia playing this board game. It’s crazy cool that there’s so many ways to play this game from solo up to 4 players, campaign, or regular. There’s lots of replayability here with different characters, a big stack of weapons, and different bosses and stages to fight. You won’t get bored. But to be prepared you need to consider the confusing points i try to clear up below and decide if this game is for you. I hope I help and you have fun!Confusing pointsYour first decrease in health doesn’t drain your health completely, so it’s really easy on a big hit to lose all your health again. (Your first loss in health can’t be drained down to the old man’s face. You must leave have all the HP to take the hit or reheal 100% THEN take the hit. )The game doesn’t say in plain words, you roll your 4 support colored dice during the dice pool step of the action phase. Then during the engage step you add to this pool and during the overcome step of the action phase you take away from this pool during each stage battle.-that’s why, on the “engage” step of the action phase it says reroll. Because this is the time you roll new dice from your skills or boost cards. And if there’s not more of that color in the general supply you have to reroll one of that color in your dice pool.During a two player game you have to use Dr. Light’s support dice and give him the support dice he needs or else you lose one HP. But one of the bosses cards forces you to choose random supports to use. So this kind of guaranteed I would lose an HP every turn. I think they should either edit these cards or give you an exception in the directions.Dislikes: we played the two player version a couple times. I thought it was unbalanced. The game tells you to use only one weapon for a two player game and I think two weapons would help more. We could not beat the game during our playthroughs.Minus one star for confusion and unbalanced 2 player game.I will be retrying this game solo soon and will try to update this review.
