Perfect non-damaging toner for blonde hair
I am on my third (edit: now it's my seventh) tube of platinum pearl and I can't express how much I love this stuff. When I bleach my roots I end up with level 9 yellow hair, which I then use Shades EQ to turn into more of an icy/gray blonde. But once that toner starts fading, the yellow creeps back in and that's when I start using this product.I leave it on for at least an hour under a shower cap, which does leave just a hint of lavender in my hair but I like that and intentionally leave it on for way longer than directed because I want that hint of color. It does darken up my blonde due to leaving it on for so long but that's the look I'm going for. The smell is pleasant and my hair is SOOOO soft after I rinse, despite all the abuse I put it through with bleaching and toners. Also, I scoured the reviews before purchasing and noticed a lot of the people who included pictures and complained about the product "doing nothing" used the wrong color. They either started off with hair that was too dark for the product to have an effect, or used the incorrect color to neutralize. So for the first issue of using this product on dark hair - this is a color-depositing product, it does not lift at all so if your hair starts off DARKER than the color that is coming out of the tube, your results will be almost imperceptible, or you will get no results at all. If you use blush BLONDE on brown hair, guess what - it's not going to do anything, because it is impossible to see a lighter color on dark hair. The color may be there, but you won't see it. Look at the color of the model's hair on the box - if your hair is significantly darker than that, chances are you will not see significant results.I will say, some of the before/afters in the product photos are misleading in my opinion, which I'm not a fan of because it gives people unrealistic expectations. Like the plum color most certainly will not turn truly black hair a bright purple like the photos claim, especially if it's virgin hair unless maaaaybe you're in very bright direct sunlight, but that's another discussion. If you are attempting to neutralize undertones, you have to choose the correct color based on what tone you are attempting to neutralize. Look at a color wheel. Purple neutralizes yellow, blue neutralizes orange. If you have orange brassy roots and use purple, it won't work. If you have yellow brass and use blue, same deal. And you cannot fix a bad bleach job with a product like this - if you do not lift your hair enough and end up with really orange roots or streaks, you need to bleach again, a color-depositing conditioner is not going to fix a bad bleach job. Your hair must be light enough for the conditioner to be able to neutralize. I do wish the products were labeled with what color the product actually is because that might help but do some research and choose the color that is appropriate for your hair, or do another round of bleach if your hair can tolerate it. But this product is not going to magically fix hair that was not lifted properly. This product also must be applied COMPLETELY evenly, otherwise you will get streaks. It takes me a good 20 minutes to work this through my semi-thick boob-length hair because if you don't fully saturate every strand, guess what - those strands will not be affected and you will end up with streaky hair. I haphazardly slapped this in my hair the first time I used it and I did end up with streaks. I've since learned my lesson and I section my hair into 6 parts and apply to each section until it is fully saturated from root to tip. And if certain parts of your hair are more damaged (aka pourous) the color will stick to those parts more as well. I start with the hair growing from the nape of my neck since it's less damaged, then move up my scalp and do the hair growing from the crown of my head last, which gets more abuse from the flat iron and therefore is more porous. Ends tend to be more damaged/porous compared to roots, so if that is a concern for you, apply to hair closer to the scalp first and slowly work your way down.

A Noticeable Difference
Some background information to help future discerning customers:- I’ve been bleaching my hair and dying it purple for about two years. First trip was to the salon, as I have long hair and bleaching it all myself was too nerve wracking.- I’ve been keeping up with my roots every 4-6 months and brightening up the color using Arctic Fox’s ‘Bleach, Please’ and ‘Purple AF.’- This was my first time using any sort of toner (after having noticed the purple was consistently having a tougher time staying colorful on the newly bleached roots - I found I almost had to use the dye as a toner and do 2-3 rounds of dye over the roots.) So I thought I’d give actual toner a try, to see if it made any difference.- Other reviewers mentioned they’d noticed it had turned their hair purple/blue, but since I would be dying my hair purple anyway, I figured I’d give it a shot. The Toner:- It comes in a squeezable tube with a flip-top cap, which was quite nice considering I had my husband helping me out with the process. He’d squeeze a generous portion into my gloved hands, and I’d slather it over my hair. (Side note, I did my roots as well as the rest of my hair that was already dyed purple, since the toner claims to be conditioning, and my hair could have used a hydration boost.)- The color was a rich blue that faded into a much lighter periwinkle as it sat on my hair.- The texture was smooth and almost seemed to *very lightly* foam up a little bit, which helped me spread it around evenly and make sure every bit of my hair was saturated and coated with toner. The Experience:- As previously mentioned, it was very easy to work with. It coated my hair nicely, and I didn’t try to skimp on how much I used in an attempt to save product. I used about 3/4 of the tube (for reference, I my hair is about average thickness, naturally curly, and 2ft long when held straight).- I wore gloves and cleaned up the excess that had gotten on my shoulders/arms/neck/forehead/ears with a baby wipe. There was one spot on the back of my neck that looked like it might stain, but by the time I rinsed it all off in the shower, no stains remained.- I have a naturally red tint to the brown in my hair, so as you can imagine, bleaching it makes it fairly brassy.Upon rinsing I was a little worried I’d need another round of toner, but by the time it was all dry and I had a chance to truly inspect it, the toner had lifted about 95% of that brassiness. It didn’t turn platinum, but I didn’t need it to, so I consider it a win. It also didn’t leave any blue or purple tint to the bleached roots.- After the rest of The Purple-ing Process™️ was completed, I noticed quite the difference from the previous three times I did this process (without the toner.) Arctic Fox’s formulas do a pretty dang good job at keeping your hair as hydrated as possible, but without the toner I would still have about 3 days where my hair is fairly static-y before it settles down. WITH the toner, I didn’t have any static to my hair after the process, and it feels noticeably softer and silkier.- So far as the color correction goes, previously I would have re-Purpled my roots by now after noticing them turning more of a pinkish/brassy tone (after 1-2 washings.) Currently (after 1 washing) my roots match the dark, rich amethyst of the rest of my hair, and I’m delighted. I’ll absolutely be adding this to the upkeep process in the future.

Not bad.
I wasn’t too sure to try it but when I tried it on, it wasn’t bad at all. I usually have really dark Burnett hair. And with this is not gonna do drastic, change on your color, it going to give you a nice shine and a little boosters tinted of color. But all I could say has a really nice Salon smell. And I like how it layers well, it works better than the ones that I have already. And it was probably a little bit more expensive than this one. I took one start down because this took forever to come to my house. But it’s not that bad. Probably later I will buy me the second one.

Love it ! Pretty color !
Love it ! I will use this product from now on every 10 days … it doesn’t turn your hair Orange and it’s not going to lighten my hair more blonde but it DOES make it a very pretty shade or “bronde” I guess you’d call it … sort or blondish brown . It also made my hair shinier as well as softer I could tell. I was really amazed at this product(it is purple in the tube but does more than just a purple shampoo I’ve used for blonde hair did ) .:: I felt like it gave me a new color all over . So it does what it says and it even covered my gray roots a little! It will save me money as well since it’s letting me wait an extra month or two even to get my hair colored again ! Love it !
