Okay, this item itself doesn't have bad instructions, however it is a COMPLEX item. Thus, you will need to be VERY CAREFUL with reading instructions and double checking the fit of something before fully tightening your screws. Also be very careful with the deep screws as they have a tendency to break through this type of material. I highly recommend using a Torque tool with a hex bit and Phillips head bit, using the included hex key is miserable because it is so small; but was definitely useful in the tighter spaces. Of note in particular: be careful when assembling the lift top surface and THOROUGHLY read the instructions on these steps. It's very easy to get pieces turned around and it's a pain to install this part in the first place. Be VERY CAREFUL checking the fit of the lift top when it closes (i think you can do this while you're installing the F bolts in the premade holes, for stability), ours had a slight overlap with the adjacent surface and we needed to reinstall. One person was able to handle most of the work, but this definitely took a few hours off and on to work out. Tight spaces can be troublesome for screws. A furniture marker/crayon can touch up small damages easily, as this is veneered particle board. Keep in mind how heavy your table gets with the extra storage, this also helps keep the table sturdy so don't be afraid of that storage potential! I was able to get this with a coupon. Personally, i wouldn't have paid the original price on this item($152usd), though on a whole i find flat pack furniture overpriced. I am satisfied with the value of my purchase. I had spent some time looking for a lift top table around this size that had deep storage and wasn't more than $120usd, and with coupon this absolutely fit the bill.

Assembly was challenging. I had to loosen some parts to align everything properly. When it was all in place, I tightened everything up without problems. It's sturdy and nice.

While I prefer solid wood furnishings, at this price that can't be had. Assembly is pretty easy. Took maybe 90 minutes. If you can do IKEA, you can do this. In fact, instructions are a little better than IKEA, since it's written as well as illustrated. Just pay close attention to the predrilled holes and grommet locations in the illustrations for each step. All the hardware was there (including a few extra). All the predrilled holes were present and correctly located. Mounting the lift top with mechanisms is a little tricky working alone, but manageable. The only extras you need to bring to the party are a #2 Phillips screwdriver and a drop light (for mounting the lift table; it's dark under there). I like to eat meals while watching streaming entertainment. The lift top is perfect for that, and operates easily. It's nice to have the hidden storage beneath the lift top for all the unsightly junk that accumulates on a coffee table. Altogether a well designed piece.

After a few hours of putting this together ( put the top on wrong the first time ) it doesn't line up. I have put hundreds of pieces of furniture together in my life and this one is the worst! need to contact the seller and figure out what the issue is.

If it wouldn't be a complete and total nightmare to return, I'd be returning it asap. The lift top is uneven and feels like the table is about to tip over when empty, and trying to open and shut is concerning because the connection points aren't the best. I wish the low reviews had been here when I was looking because this is a waste of money and time to assemble.

Go well with my living room decor. Love the way the top comes up. If I'm having company, I'll leave the top up half way. Good conversation piece. It took my husband about hour and half. Hardest part was the top that opens.

I love this coffee table. It’s a nice hidding place for games, blankets, magazines. You name it. And the space inside is pretty decent.
