Fireguard with double doors. We just moved into a period home and needed a guard to keep our dog away from the wood burner. The fireplace sticks out quite far at the top, and there is a lip at the front of the hearth. I asked for extra dimensions to check that it would fit and that the stove door would open, the seller responded promptly (thanks also to the Amazon community for your answers). I have to say, I don't think the fit could be much better if it was custom-made. The magnetic catch on the doors work well. It is stable even with the doors open. It does get warm, but not as hot as the stove. Very solid, especially given the price, but I may add magnets to the back of the hearth to hold it down (frame being iron) because our dog is particularly nosy and boisterous. The tools are a bonus I know other reviewers said the tools should be on the inside but they would be hard to reach then. I would recommend it, but obviously check that it will work for your stove/fire and hearth.

Great value for money and is perfect for keeping our toddler away from the fireplace. Only reason it's not 5 stars is I wish the hooks for the tools were on the inside not the outside. We ended up grinding the hooks off so our toddler could run into them.

3 stars because I bought it after one other customer review advised that the hooks could be reversed so the tools can be on the inside, mine are welded in place.VERY IMPORTANT: This means children can get hold of the tools and kittens can play with the tools.*What makes matters worse is that the poker is a deadly weapon, I've never seen a poker so sharp, and it has two poinkers, more like a medieval pike than anything of purpose at a fireside.**Also, the brush is nylon bristles, so no good for anything hot.*If there's another War of The Roses (since this is border country) I'm covered, but I'm really concerned that this doesn't come with a sharp weapon warning and an age restraint.More consistency across the build quality and safety concerns would have secured a better review, but sorry these are essentials to most people.Another thing the people making these should consider is the current trend, when installing open fires and woodburners, for there to be a raised lintel, so adding extra height would have made more sense. This would enable them to sell it as a *tall* fireguard to a specific market and if they had sense enough could bring a higher price,But hey-ho, it's here now, I'll have to see how it goes because repacking ans sending it back would be an extra pain, so hopefully the kitten won't scale it, but I will have to hide the tools and hand the pike into the next police weapon amnesty.

Used for our woodburner stove as our dog would try to get right up to it. There were cheaper ones but this is excellent, the brush and shovel etc that came with it hang nicely on the side. The heat still radiates into the room as I thought it might not.Very attractive, and the dog is now safe. Worth every penny

Had to send back, didn't fit our stove, as stove door caught on bottom bar.

Fit my fireplace perfectly, it's heavy and it looks elegant. love the fact that it comes with the tools. It fits the purpose of use, It has stopped my toddler from dragging wood out from my wood burner. And most importantly, It will keep my toddler safe when the burner is in use.
