Inconsistent Collection of X-Men Origins
“X-Men: Origins” is, frankly, a mixed bag, no surprise considering it includes the works of several writers and different art teams. There are interesting stories showcasing the origins of Jean Grey, Beast and Gambit, a bland look at Colossus before he joined the team and regrettable looks at Wolverine’s and Sabretooth’s pasts. Whatever readers may think of Chris Claremont, he knew that part of the appeal of characters like Wolverine and Sabretooth came from their mysterious backgrounds. It’s a lesson that too many writers have never learned. Despite this, the book is helped by some fine work from the art teams. While not a great book, most X-Men fans will at least enjoy parts of it.

Good read.
This is probably a better read if you're don't really know the origins of the characters shown. I wouldn't say that this was the best graphic novel I've read yet the art was nice and I thought it was worth reading.

Love it...
Since I never really new how the x-men characters got what they are and what they did before they became x-men, I was always curious about the HOW and WHY! This comic book actually explains a lot and is worth buying and of course reading for all marvel fans. As a matter of fact I personally would not call this book "comic", rather I would name it graphic novels. That is, because the styles of the storys varies due to different artists and writers and this also is something which gives this and x-men origins II a special look and "feel".
