BD-R Single Layer - 6x Burning Speed, Printable Surface Scratch Guard Plus, 10-Pack Spindle

Ok, so you'll need a blu-ray burner to burn / read these discs. But that said... They are great for data backup storage. They say there are two kinds of people - those who have haven't yet experienced data loss, and those who have. External hard drives can fail, whether solid state or disc based. So I like to back up important family movies, memories etc on something else as well, and blu-ray discs are a great option. These ones can store up to 50GB each, so enough for tons and tons of photos (my entire back catalogue in fact, and that's quite a few from years of travelling). They can also hold lots of .mov files, great for family videos etc. Longevity, I'm not sure. Too soon to say. We were told back in the 80s that CDs were indestructible. It turned out they weren't. If these last me 10 or 20 years, with care, I'll be happy, I'll have made new copies by then, assuming I'm still around to do so! I don't much mind if they outlast me, or not. I looked into it and did a bit of research to see how long we can expect DVDs or BLU-Ray discs to last. The answer turns out to be "long enough for most purposes, but not as long as we thought"! If anyone needs to archive really important material for future generations, they might wish to use the highly stable and reliable MABL-discs. These have passed rigorous quality controls and are supposed to last 1,000 years (assuming they're kept carefully in good conditions). My understanding is that Verbatim's BluRay discs were 'MABL' though it's not clear to me if this set of discs are.

Great buy. All 10 discs burnt at full speed. More expensive then others but definitely worth it. I bought this along with a cheaper set as a test and the cheaper set gave me 0 discs out of 4 attempts (Even at low speed). I sent the rest back and will be buying more of these in the future.

Not sure, since my external dvd drive stopped working. Is it my drive the cause or the dvd's?

Bought these discs to back up files etc. and used my 2012 Pioneer BDR-206DBK Blu-Ray Recorder to do the writing. I've had no issues so far, they seem good Discs and I haven't had any coasters at all. As for longevity, I cant comment - only time will tell. As with any Blu-Ray disc, I would advocate handling them with care and avoid getting finger marks, grease or dirt etc on the surface of the disc as it will make them difficult to read for any reader; I always grip discs on the very outer edge and/or wear gloves to alleviate the possibility of causing issues relating to reading the disc. I know its stating the obvious but, you'd be amazed how many people think discs are indestructible !!!! LOL!!!

Quality discs. No read or write issues at all. Only downside is that they're pricey. Can't comment if the media is still usable in a year's time.

I have used 25GB Verbatim discs for years with no issues, beyond the odd coaster. Needed more space so bought 50GB discs...out of this 10 pack, I had 2 coasters...out of a later 25 pack, the first 3 discs used have been coasters. A coaster rate of over 1/3 is not remotely good. Seems Verbatim discs are fine on lower capacity 25GB discs but worthless at anything higher. Will now be looking to other brands for all my discs from now on. Such a shame

ALthough the discs I have were bought in 2017, I've been using them for special occasions - plus Memory Sticks have dropped in price in the meantime, rendering them (in some ways) obsolete. Anyway, one disc failed - at a price of nearly £5! - which is not great considering (a) the reputation Verbatim have and (b) the price! Hence the three star review. I've ordered a ten-disc pack/stack of these discs for £35 (yes, I know, I must be mad!) and I just hope the failed disc turns out to have been a one-off.

Fantastic product. The cases are obviously great to store your movies, data etc. Discs burn with no problems, best I've bought yet.

Come anche nel caso dei DVD, fino adesso (incrociando le dita) non ho mai avuto problemi con i dischi Verbatim fatti da Mitsubishi Chemicals Corp oppure da Mitsubishi-Kagaku Media. Anche in questo caso della confezione di 5 pezzi BD-R DL 50GB, li ho verificati con DVD Identifier ed altri software (immagini allegate) e sono fatti da Mitsubishi-Kagaku Media in Taiwan, quindi una garanzia della prima classe di qualità del supporto ottico. Da vedere su sito digitalfaq la guida Blank DVD Media Quality Review (Manufacturer+Brand). Ogni disco ha la sua custodia standard (non slim) e corrispondono alle immagini della inserzione. La capacità di questi dischi blu-ray dual layer è di 50GB, ma attenzione, sono espressi in multipli di 10 non di 2, quindi la capacità effettiva è di 50.050.629.632 Byte che equivale a 46,61 GiB (GibiByte, cioè i GigaByte multipli di 2, quello che di fatto fanno vedere i diversi sistemi operativi). Il layer scrivibile MABL di colore grigio scuro (non il solito blu) è un layer inorganico, che in teoria dovrebbe garantire una durata di vita più lunga del supporto rispetto a quelli fatti con layer organico, ma comunque non la stessa durata dei M disc, questi ultimi essendone i migliori. Confermo la velocità massima di scrittura di 6x come riconosciuta anche dai software utilizzati per ricavare le info del supporto, ma è possibile scriverli anche con velocità più basse di 4x e 2x. Altamente raccomandati a chi cerca qualità a livelli di standard industriale.

Excellent quality from Verbatim but very bad packaging (simple envelope) for such fragile media.
