I’m new to tumbling and was recommended this grit by a friend let me tell you it works fantastic! My daughter and I took our time and followed the steps and stages according and produced great shiny rocks as a result. And for the cost you can’t go wrong! I would definitely purchase again.

It works as supposed to and an excellent price.

Ran a batch of rocks in my vibratory tumbler. They were matte finish coming out of polish. Figured it must have been user error, must not have cleaned rocks well enough after stage 3 so I sent the entire batch back through starting at stage 2. After stage 3 I used my mini power washer to ensure rocks were completely clean. They started with a bit of shine but after running for 3 days in the vibratory tumbler with this polish they came out duller than when they went in. I have ran batches using another brand of polish. I will go back to that brand, this one is terrible!

Normally we get a nice shine after running #4 for about 2 weeks and washing with borax for several hours to get the rocks very clean. We have 3 tumblers and have had excellent success previously doing this. We have done 2 drums with results that are disappointing. Very smooth but no shine. Now we are trying a 12000 grit for a 5th step but have a few days before checking.

I tumble for Rock specimens rather than jewellery , so only use Grade1 & 2. This grit works fine for rocks with only a thin outer coating that you want to clean up rather than remove. Use a lot of Grade2..
