Puregro Mashed Potato 1.5kg

Excellent choice. I was a bit wary as I don’t eat much of this apart from emergencies or camping . However I have just mixed some up with hot water and butter , added a little salt and left a minute or so before eating. Lovely taste and texture . I compared with a highly recommended pack in my cupboard that only contains 74 percent potato and lots of additives. This Puregro is 99 percent potato , and you can tell. Pleased I took the plunge and ordered it on subscription there are no instructions but let’s face it , rehydrating instant mash isn’t rocket science despite the old adverts ! I will be experimenting with this pack , using in baking and other recipes.

This dried potato is excellent value for money, and a good standby. Mixed with hot milk and butter they taste just like fresh. Also mixed well with other mashed roots, make an interesting topping for a variety of savoury dishes. Can be used in baking too. A very versatile store cupboard standby

Firstly there aren't any instructions which isn't very helpful - I use 90 g of potato powder and add 450ml of boiling oatmilk ( you could use cow's milk) and a good dollop of Flora Buttery and season to taste . I find that is enough for two people.I'm not going to pretend that you can't tell the difference between this and "real mash potato" but it's very good, I'm on my second bag so that should tell you something. It also saves having to eat a load of potatoes before they start to go off.

This arrived yesterday and I had it with venison sausages and gravy last night, or bangers and mash as we call it.I tried to follow some instructions to make it up from another review, but I can only assume they weren't using actual measuring spoons, because it didn't work out. So for anyone else reading this, I used actual baking measuring spoons so I could record how to make it correctly for future reference, and 4 tablespoons of potato powder to 300 ml of boiling water makes a good sized portion of perfect mashed potato, as per the photo.I added Maldon sea salt, black pepper and butter to taste, and it tasted exactly as though I'd peeled potatoes, boiled them and mashed them myself, except with any of the hassle and potatoes growing eyes and sprouting in the cupboard because I never have time to use them all. There was no odd after taste or anything else others have mentioned in other reviews.I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to eating it all Winter, although I can see I'll probably be buying more at this rate.

Unfortunately arrived damaged, burst all over the box, Royal Mail wrapped the whole box in a clear bag, with an advisory notice. Not great.

Wasn't expecting this to be as good as it was!! I'm not a mashed potato person normally but bought this for emergency back up for potential food shortages and price increases. It is pretty tasteless so you need to add butter, milk, salt and pepper etc.Be careful how much you use coz it expands like crazy! I used around 4 tablespoons and slowly added hot water until it all got nicely mixed and ready to eat. Need to experiment with adding stuff like chives and other spices. Food value and worth buying.4 tablespoons is a big portion and I didn't finish it all. So maybe see how you feel on around 2.5 to 3 tablespoons and go from there

Brilliant! Perfect ... only 4 stars because no instructions on how to use ... however, convinient size at a reasonable price, taste as mashed potatoes should taste also depending on what you add (water or milk, salt, pepper, margarine .... or...). The texture is perfect as the best mashed potatoes. Depending on how much liquid you add you can have it firm or soft resembling clouds in a sunny day. The colour is white as mashed potatoes. It is proper mashed potatoes powder with wich I can very quickly make a perfect mashed potatoes!
