HAS ALREADY PAID FOR ITSELF
Welding a small crack on my travel trailer frame was going to cost me $125. A recent YouTube review convinced me to give this "too-good-to-be-true" device a try. It did a great job.

works very well actually
I was skeptical. but i needed a portable solution.I gave it a whirl. The arc was easy to start. The weld was easy, super easy to maintain. The penetration was excellent. In short: it works. it works well. (I am an experience welder, took welding classes in college). I know how to arc weld, and this was way above my expectations. My first weld with it...I have a trailer and the jack handle broke. I cut it off clean with cut off wheel, then welded on a 5/8 nut so that I can use my impact wrench to raise/lower the trailer. I was able to control the weld perfectly. put it at 60, and that was good choice for this Nut and 5/8 round stock. SO MUCH better than hauling out my 40 pound mig. Its a arc welder, so you have slag to deal with . But keep one in your trunk if you do trailering or 4wheeling or with outdoor equipment.I have a snowmobile that the tie-rod end broke. I welded a nut to the end of the broken off stud and was able to extract the broken off threaded end and replace. Did that on the trailer. That was normally a day ending issue, yet it was only minutes to replace the tie rod end.Nutshell: it works. it works well. it is awesome and small to have in your toolbox for emergency uses. smaller jobs it seems to excel.I think it was worth the money. Will it last? unsure. But all indications seem that it works as expected for small jobs.

Good one-time
This welder worked one time. Second time I could hear something rattling internally (loose or broken piece). The size of the tool will double your distance from the item you're welding. Returned.

Worked great until
I actually bought this back in May of 2024. I have never welded before in my life so I have not tried it until now, January 11th 2015. It worked really well for my first time. I think this product makes it easier to learn on. But, after finishing my 4th small tac weld the switch had apparently broke. I couldn't shut it off. I'm way past my return time but I'm hoping someone will still help me since I only used it for 4 small welds. This would be 5 stars all the way had that not happened.

GZ 200 amp arc welder
I bought this specife 200 amp welder because a previous review said it had 2 gauge ground and stinger cables instead of the 4 gauge that come on most welders. Also it has a great ground clamp and a 500 amp stinger handle. Very nice. I tried the welder on 120v to start with. Not much success with 3/32 rod.. You can burn it, but lots of cutting in and out and sticking. I was using 110 stinger amps on a 120v 20 amp feed circuit.. Might be better if you had a 30 amp input, but MOST are not going to have that.. This thing pulls over 30 amps if your set a over 100 amp output. I did have some 1/16 and .075 inch rod and it worked will with that on 20 amp feed... Set to 240v input and 110- 120 amp stinger out put. Welds great with 7018 and above average with 6010 - 6011. VERY NICE ... I have a 7000 watt generator for "away" jobs, so i connected to that on 240v and same thing.. GREAT ... I would recommend this welder for the stinger / lead quality and performance and long as your using 240 v with the 3/32 rod.. Input power is 7 ft 240v cable with a 1 ft adaptor to get to 120v.... internally changes voltage by itself. ... I dont plan on useing the TIG function so i did not buy the OPTIONAL torch.

A great tool to have around the house
This handheld welder is super convenient! I had several metal items at home that were unusable due to broken welds, and this machine helped me fix them easily.
