Does a great job and so easy to carry around
This is a really great camera to carry around with me.It takes photos in an easy and accessible way.It has a high res photo setting.Has Macro and automatic and manual and all the usual settings including a decent zoomI have had zero problems with it and am very happy.This is the cheapest in the Ixus range and I have also one that is of higher spec but it has become faulty after many years of use. I am happy now with this new one.

Good camera but didn’t come with correct charger
Camera itself is as described and seems to work perfectly fine, so no complaints there. However, the battery charger they provided was a third-party charger that didn’t actually fit the battery of this camera. I had to purchase another charger last minute for my holiday which was a bit of a hassle; just be aware of this when buying!

Nostalgic Compact Camera
Very pleased with my Canon IXUS 185. The camera arrived exactly as described and in great condition. I’ve been using it for capturing everyday moments (socials, garden and home etc), and I love the nostalgic compact-camera look it gives. A smashing little camera
Quite a miracle of small scale technology... I wanted a point-and-shoot camera to supplement my bulkier SLR, now used mainly as a process camera and the IXUS does all that I could want. It takes some nice photographs too. It's well-made, easy to operate, goes in my pocket and uses a memory card that is almost universal. Don't waste money on anything cheaper!

Nice little camera, missing a few pretty important things
Sadly I cannot give this camera a good star rating. It is a lovely camera. Simple to set up and use. However, it comes without a USB cable, so if you would want to download your photos you have to buy this separately. I may not be a terribly technically minded person, but to me this is a little like selling a car without all four wheels having tyres - very nice and you can sort of use it, but not really... You get the most basic of instructions in a rather large booklet and have to download the full manual. Oh, when did good service die..? I must getting old, but I remember the days when products came with all you needed, including an instruction book you could hold in your hand and a CD to download your camera to your laptop.

Great images for the price - great for travel
I wanted a simple camera, which I could take with me on travels where i don't want to be carrying around an expensive one, which might attract unwanted attention. The Canon Ixus 185 fits the bill perfectly - it is simple to use, has a useful 8 times zoom controlled from a little dial, and it can be carried easily in a jacket or jeans pocket. It is roughly credit card sized long and about the thickness of a finger.The images are really good and I have included a couple of photographs taken in different conditions to give examples of what it can do easily in different light conditions. For the price this is an excellent little camera -and i am delighted with it

Good value, simple to use.
This is a nice decent camera for everyday use. Convenient size for pocket or bag. Easy to connect to pc to download pics. Not Wi-fi, but you can buy memory cards that are (which is what I use). Compact and light enough to slip into a pocket.

Performant, léger et non encombrant
J'ai le plaisir d'avoir pu remplacer l'appareil Canon Ixus, devenu inutilisable, que j'ai employé pendant plusieurs années. J'apprécie en plus de ses bonnes performances photographiques, sa légèreté et son petit format.
