Cat, born Steven Demetre Georgiou, achieved early success in the mid-60s with 'I Love My Dog' and 'Matthew and Son'. He is a prolific songwriter writing songs such as 'Wild World' and 'Lady D'Arbanville' and 'The First Cut Is The Deepest' the latter, in particular, would go on to become an international hit on multiple occasions for a variety of artists. Also included is Cat Stevens' version of 'Morning Has Broken' a popular and well known Christian hymn which became one his biggest hits. The Collected collection by Cat Stevens is a 2LP gatefold album, largely chronological through Stevens' career, ranging from his hits 'Matthew & Son' to 'Midday (Avoid City After Dark)' credited to the singer's latter-day Yusuf Islam identity. Stevens remains one of the few early 70s singer-songwriters specialized in folk and pop-songs, whose oeuvre continues to attract new listeners with every passing generation. This Collected album will only add to their numbers.

Fast Perfekt. Tolle Vinyl Pressung. Warum aber nur die alten Songs?
Eine neue Collection im Jahr 2017 ohne große Überraschungen.Eine gelungene Zusammenstellung aus den Jahren 1966-1977. Und als letzten Titel dann doch noch ein Titel vom 2006er Album AN OTHER CUP.Und das finde ich dann doch etwas schade. Er nimmt den Namen CAT STEVENS und YUSUF ja inzwischen wieder beide an.Warum hat man nicht die Chance genutzt auch ein paar Titel der letzten 11 Jahre mit auf eine solche Veröffentlichung zu pressen. Vielleicht dann als 3er LP Set.Die Qualität der Pressung auf das graufarbige Vinyl in limitierter Auflage ist SPITZE !!! Für Stereo Genießer mit das Beste, was ich in letzter Zeit gekauft habe. Keine Knackser, kein Knistern,... ! Toll wie die Stimme zum größten Teil aus dem linken Kanal und die Instrumente verteilt aus beiden Lautsprechern immer wieder den Eindruck vermitteln, man hört jedes Instrument einzeln heraus.Die Vinyls lagen sogar in gefütterten Innenhüllen und die LP sogar in einer versiegelten LP Hülle. TOPDas Album schrammt nur knapp an 5 Sternen vorbei, da hier die Chance vertan wurde, eine wirkliche Werkschau zu veröffentlichen.Dennoch eine Kaufempfehlung.

Muy buen compilado con pocas omisiones
Esta genial que trae casi toda la lista del album The Very Best of, de las que me gustan de ese compilado que faltaron aquí nada más sería Sad Lisa. La ecualización y todo lo demás en general esta muy bien, aunque tal vez diría que no sobresale mucho el masterizado, esta justo y tal vez no le quisieron alterar más para no variar la versión original de las canciones. Lo recomiendo 100% sobre todo si lo encuentran a buen precio, aunque al ser una edición limitada dudo que eso vaya a suceder. Esta edición venía en gris que creí sería un material ruidoso pero no tenía nada de ruido superficial. Me gusto también que no viene en shrink wrap sino en una funda de plástico con una pestaña por donde puedes sacar el album y extraer los discos.

Platte Top - amazon Flop
Ich habe schon einige Vinyl-Scheiben bei Amazon erworben. Gestern kam meine Cat Stevens - Collected LP. Zur Platte und Musik möchte ich nicht viel sagen. Die Qualität ist Top und hätte bestimmt 4 - 5 Sterne verdient. Leider ist Amazon dieses mal ein Flop. Ich habe einen neuen Artikel bestellt, bezahlt und einen gebrauchten bekommen. Das Siegel war gebrochen, die Schutzhülle schmutzig und zerschrammt und die Platten schon gespielt. Siehe Fotos, da hat wohl mein Vorgänger den Mittelpin seines Plattenspielers ein bisschen verfehlt.Jeder regt sich momentan auf, dass Amazon fast alle Retouren in die Tonne wirft. Nichts desto trotz sind die Platten ja sonst so weit in Ordnung (kratzerfrei, Cover o.k.). Ich werde sie wohl dieses mal behalten. Einer muss ja die Retouren nehmen. Ich finde es nur eine Unverschämtheit, die Artikel als "NEU" zu verkaufen. Ein Preisnachlass von 20 bis 30 Prozent wäre schon angemessen gewesen, zumal Amazon ja in ihren Rückgaberichtlinien schreibt, dass bei unversiegelten Datenträgerretouren nur eine Erstattung von 50 Prozent des Kaufpreises erfolgt.Ich hoffe, dass dies einmalig war und dass es das nächste Mal wieder die gewohnte Amazon (Qualität) Neuware gibt.
