These units will do a great job if set up 100% correctly..........not 99% !!
I have read numerous bad reviews about this product and I agree with all the ones who have had faulty units, that happens, however I honestly feel that some of the bad reviews are due to our misunderstanding of how and the time scales that these units take to connect to Vodafone to operate properly. There is a fair argument to say that the in built software is not user friendly and that the instructions do not give you the detail that is needed to use and operate them especially if you have some issues. Firstly anyone who buys a Suresignal from Vodafone direct will struggle setting this piece of kit up unless they have some computer knowledge, the on line support teams around the World do not understand the intricacies of this product. I bought mine from this seller and it is lucky for me that I did, they will support you with the installation and most of us will need the assistance. Firstly the setup, the Vodafone instructions are not detailed and the supplier adds extra stages so you know what you are doing. Now the tricky part, the unit does not work instantly, it can take up to 24 hours for the unit to register with Vodafone, then miraculously it will work, I have no signal at home but once installed I now have a full service. Our area suffers from random Power cuts, this caused and still causes the unit to stop working as it needs up to 6 hours to re register itself with Vodafone, of course I did not know that but James from the vendor explained everything to me and what to do, he was 100% right. They also supported me in connecting the unit directly to a Devolo wi fi signal booster and also giving the unit a fixed IP address to assist it re registering every time. I would definitely advise buying one of these units as once you have very patiently set it up, you WILL have a mobile signal working from your home or office.

Signal boosted from 1 to 4 bars!!
I was a little skeptical given some of the negative reviews, but I cannot be more impressed with the Sure Signal V3. My signal strength has gone from 1 bar to 4 bars!! Having moved to a low signal area recently, my phone conversation were proving difficult to have in the house, and I was constantly having to go outside to get any reception. The Sure Signal V3 has made a huge difference. Beautifully presented and easy to install, this is a great product.

Expensive, bulky, ugly, difficult to setup and don't expect it to last long
The main problem with this device is there is a very high chance it will fail. They are far too expensive for what they are and they are bulky and ugly. The device gets very warm when plugged in. It is a massive pain to setup on the Vodafone web site and I was forever having to go in and add numbers back in that it had somehow removed. When it did work, it did what it was supposed to. However, I am loathe to buy another one considering how expensive and flaky they are. I also think the whole idea behind how it works is taking a liberty, charging me a fortune for a device that connects to the Vodafone network through MY Internet connection. They need to sort out the signal problem so we don't have to buy rubbish like this that lasts no time. Massively disappointed. Cannot recommend this product.

Very useful but limited range through walls
As vodaphone don't seem to allow calls over the Internet (not in my plan anyway) this is a must have for me as reception in my area is poor. I now get full reception in part of the house. I would give it 5 stars but the range is a bit limited through walls so 4 stars, although I have to say it is very useful. You do need to set up an account (no charge) but this is easy.

When these device work well they are marvellous. As a surgeon staying in a poor reception area I have been very grateful to an identical device for enabling me to communicate with the hospital. But I have great difficulties setting sure signal devices up - they often fail to work out of the box which is why the superb help which comes with this particular item is so exceptional. Do not try it with the Archer VR900 tp link router - it wont work.

Pre-purchase research suggests this unit is neither good or reliable. With poor Vodafone signal at my home, its my only option.
I had some great pre-purchase support from Smarter Telecoms. Living in a village I was concerned that my upload speed may not be fast enough (at about 0.8mbps my upload speed is under the 1mbps Vodafone say is required). I have 4mbps download speed. Actually it's fine - unless you are downloading big files and using the mobile at the same time.Whilst the supplier support was great, Vodafone were useless. The web page to register the device failed consistently. After phoning Vodafone I was promised a call back from the SureSignal support team within 10 minutes. By the next day nobody had called back. When I did eventually speak to them, they said the serial number I gave them was not valid. I explained where I had bought it and then they then seemed to validate it. There is no question it's a genuine and brand new product, but because it was not a serial number issued through Vodafone direct, I could not seem to register it online and Vodafone had a difficulty with that as well. Anyway, finally all sorted. One it is plugged in to the mains and your router, it can take some time to become active. They say up to 7 or 8 hours - mine took about 4 hours. If at anytime you unplug it to move it or if there is a power cut, it will again take some time to become active (when I moved it, it took two hours to start working again).I live in a small two bedroomed house and my router and SureSignal is in the living room. I get 100% signal strength close to the unit. Going upstairs I get three bars (but then without SureSignal I have no Vodafone signal at all). Call quality is good.Bear in mind you can only register phones with a Vodafone account on SureSignal. My wife has a mobile through another billing company that uses Vodafone. So whilst it shows connected to Vodafone on her mobile, because it is not a Vodafone account, we cannot register it on SureSignal. If you read other reviews and research this product (and I spent some time doing that), you will form the view that the units are not always reliable (several reviews report them failing after 1 year). They are a pain to connect and from using a friends SureSignal when at their house, I know every couple of months or so it just stops working (and this is resolved by turning it off and on again - and then waiting for it to connect and start working). So whilst not a good device - if like me you live in an area with very poor Vodafone coverage, it is the only solution you have. I do feel as if I am buying a unit to help Vodafone provide the service I pay for :-) If the unit does not last that long, averaging unit cost over the months you have it gives you your net monthly cost (on top of your Vodafone monthly bill) for using Vodafone in an area where they have weak coverage.Whilst connecting to Vodafone via your router, bear in mind that usage (including calls) will come from your data allowance. For most people (depending on your package) this will not be an issue as they have more than enough data allowance.Once again - full marks for Smarter Telecom (the supplier). Their pre purchase support was immediate (even out of hours), knowledgeable and trustworthy. Worth paying more to support a company that understands about customer service. Vodafone could learn a lot from them :-)
