DMM Torque Nut Set, Size 1-4

I've always been a fan of hexentrics. This new design takes the gear to another level. And, I must say, the extendable slings are a fantastic addition.

People always compliment me on my big nuts when these are hanging around. The way these are shaped you can keep adjusting them until one side jams just right.

OK, so these things are amazing for my purpose. I imagine that they're great for climbing too, but I use them for anchoring my boat against rocks and cliff faces, particularly in a two-anchor setup for night fishing. (Can you say Crappie? I knew you could) I'll drop the main anchor when two boat lengths from the cliff face, let out slack as I use trolling motor to reach cliff face. I keep this set and a brush anchor on a bowline loop at the end of a fifty-foot 1/4" rope. I select a crevice or hole sized for one of these, then I wedge it in place and keep tension on it while we fine-tune our depth/distance. This set covers a wide range of crevices, and I never have to worry about oiling them like a set of cams. When we're done fishing, I simply pull it out of the crevice, stow it, and head back to the boat ramp.

Sling them so the larger two ones don't wake the neighbors. Cuz there is a lot a cow bell going on. I used these recently while volunteering in an Anchors course and the students were hesitant to use them at first but soon found these were easy to set and just gave a confident placement. Throughout the day I saw multiple different solutions to the same problem and almost always two of the three anchor points where found using these ( Cams were off limits as they are just too easy :-) ). The interesting thing was with just a few minutes of playing around they almost always set these in active mode.
