This means you can't leave outside permanently like you can do inside. Because of elements like snow, rain. Some people makes a box using biscuits plastic box with lid to protect from weather elements. I use outside with my husband scooter, and when I need for tools like trimmer and lawn mower. It is my second one. The old one was difficult to put away, rolling back.. This one is fantastic. Worth the investment. You can use with anything.... But you can't leave outside permanently. Like with bulbs, etc.

Does the grey surround box open ? The reel has fallen out and I can’t get the reel back in

I do not think it is supposed to fall out or open. However, I do not like this reel as it is awkward to reel it back in and the plastic handle for doing so falls off.

Is this safe to use for smaller things like a tv or computer or a ohone charger as well ?

Hi, Yes It’s Perfectly Safe For Smaller Things & I Have Used It For My iPhone & Laptop. It’s Really Safe Too As If There’s A Fault, It Trips The RCD Switch Off. You Can Just Press It (A Little Button On The Extension) & It Turns It Back On & It’s Ready To Go Again. I Really Hope This Helps.

Can this be used outdoors on a dry day for a power washer? Many thanks for any answers.

Yes we use ours o outdoors. When pressure washing it is always best to take the extra precaution of covering the reel with a plastic bucket or bag to protect it from the water spray.
